The Battle of Najaster was the result of the end of the Invasion of Kahanistan and Kraven betrayal of AMF.
Background
Kahanistan had surrendered to AMF at the end of the invasion, after negotiations with Kraven proved futile. The D.S.R.K. had not, however, surrendered to Kraven. Kraven therefore saw Kahanistan as a resource-rich mine of slaves, resources, and arms.
The battle
The Kraven commander foolishly admitted to using the Freekish troops as a "militaristic chainsaw" and provoked the Freeks into changing sides; Azrael had been wearing a wire and Helghan's admission was revealed to Dreadfire himself, leading to a later Blood Feud against Kraven. Kahanistan and AMF competed for domination of the battle against Kraven, and Kahanistan seriously outnumbered AMF in troop strength. Their soldiers at this point were mainly ill-trained but hardened reservists and some more professional soldiers, but they wanted to prove themselves in battle and they had been expecting an apocalyptic final battle to the end.
While both sides were filled with hate for Kraven, and all sides seemed to hate each other, Kraven forces were expelled from Kahanistan quickly. A Sardaukar was captured and taken to a laboratory in Al-Qamar, where he broke loose and attacked several Imperial Marines and lab workers.
