Ceorana's participation in the First Winter Olympics was a fairly small affair, with 17 athletes participating. It should be noted that Ceorana's small amount of participation was not a result of its climate, as it was a very cold place with lots of snow (it has since moved southward), but simply on the fact that the nation wanted to "test the waters" of the Olympic Games before becoming a major participant. A larger delegation was sent to the First Summer Olympics.
