Philanchez or The Holy Catholic Empire of Philanchez is a Pseudo-Parliamentry Theocratic Monarchy. It was founded by the great Premiers, Sean Phillips and Andrew Sanchez (not to be confused with Leon Sanchez of imperialist fame). It was founded after they began to realize that the country they lived in was not supporting its people. They raised a resistance army of 500,000 and took the capital by storm. Unfortunately this nations name has been lost to history. Since then Philanchez has not been engaged in any wars although it supported Tetris L-Shaped Block in its war against "Tetris R-Shaped Block" and Led "Zeppelin". Since then Philanchez has remained steadfast allies with Tetris L-Shaped Block and considers itself close friends with Spooty, Kaduna, and Palixia. Philanchez went through a Social Monarchist phase and has now become a Catholic Monarchist state. Philanchez is also the founder of Democratic Union.
History
Philanchez was originally an ancient collection of tribal societies that were conquered by the Philan tripe of Eastern Philanchez and became the medieval Empire founded by Charles I de Prieto y Wolf. The nation soon grew to encompass two other nationalities, the Scythians and Cumans. As a fledgling medieval state Philanchez was renowned for its expanse and military expertise when it came to land based combat. The Philanchian Knights were greatly feared for their experties with the Philan Spear which gave them incredible reach and the ability to pierce through the strongest of infantry armour. The downfall of this great empire came in 1848. Along with several other nations Philanchez was rocked by revolution and dissent. the appearance of the Communist Manifesto assisted little and the state was thrown into anarchy for almost forty years with no clear political structure or government.
In 1888 three nations emerged from what once was the Empire of Philanchez. these three nations were the Principality of Scythia, the Empire of Cumany and finally the United Socialist States of Philanchez. At this point Philanchez pursued an era of rampant Socialism led by its founders Sean Phillips and Andrew Sanchez the former empire grew and soon became a leading nation among its allies. In this era Philanchez also embraced Floydianism and became known as the Floydian Socialist Republic of Philanchez. It was at this time that the great relationship imparted between Tetris L-Shaped Block and Philanchez was formed and when Philanchez became close friends with Palixia and Spooty. During the reign of Premier Mikhail al'Pinist Philanchez became a stalwart opponent of Imperialism and The Imperial race. This hostility lead to a war between the Imperial race and Philanchez and her allies which now included Socialist Freemen. The war ended in an overwhelming victory for the alies and would be a visible sign of things to come. After Mikhail al'Pinist came the young up-and-commer Hidalgo Tuero Vargas. His policy of national restoration and the search for a Philanchian identity before 1888 led to the discovery of the Wall of Kings which was a wall unearthed as part of a former palacial Residence and which showed the progression of Philanchian Chiefs from the beginning of the Philanchian tribal society all the way to Charles I in 1453 and the collapse of the empire under Hugh Magnus I in 1848. Vargas' party then changed its name to the Social Monarchist Party and called for a Socialist Monarchy to be embraced within Philanchez. On May 5, 2000 an heir to the last Philanchian Emperor was found, Juan Carlos de Prieto y Wolf.
On May 6, 2000 the Grand Socialist Imperium of Philanchez was formed with Juan III as Imperator and Hidalgo Tuero Vargas as Principe Popular. This administration oversaw the great regional war in which The Glorious Empire, the successor state of The Imperial Race, was defeated by allied forces of the Democratic Union. The Principality of Scythia was absorbed peacefully into the empire during the reign of Juan III. Sadly, an increase of government waste and inflation led to the popoularity of the Carlist Party which supported a lineage descending from the Borbon branch of Charles I's son Carlos de Borbon. The Carlists promised a return to the ideals of yester-year when communal industry and farming where the accepted ideals of the people and helped forge the great Philanchian Empire. With all this nationalist hubris the people gladly elected the carlists and ousted Juan III and Hidalgo Tuero Vargas.
On May 23, 2006 the Holy Catholic Empire of Philanchez was born and Carlos VI de Borbon y Borbon took the throne. His administration has seen an advance in the Philanchian economy and has also overseen the Crusade of the Glorious Empire which was a massive effort by Floydian, Solist, and catholic nations within the Democratic Union to oust the Satanic Governments of The Glorious Empire and Spooty. Six million Philanchian citizens and six million Philanchian troops were lost in this fight which eventually spread to the western part of Philanchez. Almost $200 billion in damage were incurred upon the empire and it is currently trying to recover from this massive effort. Although the war was finally won and a peace accord was signed on July 14th, 2011 it is seen as a marginal victory.
