Government and Politics of British Londinium
Constitution
The current constitution of the Britannic Empire was drafted in 2005, by Emperor James I and Empress Hemali I, to create a nation in which political and civil freedoms blossom, the economy thrives, and the government is transparent. In May 2006, the constitution was submitted to the provinces, and they ratified it unanimously.
Recently, after the British Londinian civil war, a new government was installed, with a fascist puppet president in control.
National Government
The national government is composed of the New Party government, the Dual Monarchy, and the courts.
The Monarchs
The current monarchs:
- Her Britannic Majesty, Hemali the First, by the Grace of God, of the Britannic Empire of British Londinium and of Her other Realms and Territories Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith.
- His Britannic Majesty, James the First, by the Grace of God, of the Britannic Empire of British Londinium and of His other Realms and Territories King, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith.
The Monarchs serve as the joint heads of state and of government. They appoint a cabinet to assist in the running of the government. Each Monarch has a veto power over the other, but it is rarely excercised.
The Monarchs have had two children to date, the Crown Prince Winston and the Crown Princess Rajarajeshvari.

Crown Princess Rajarajeshvari
The Crown Princess, age 20, attended the Royal University of Kensington, recieving degrees in Political Science, Economics, and Leisure studies. She also served six months as an RAF fighter pilot, serving one tour of duty.
Courts
The D'Oyly Court is the highest court in British Londinium. Its primary purpose is judicial review. The D'Oyly Court reviews all legislation passed by parliament, and it can either inform Parliament of a judicial concern, abrogate the law entirely due to unconstitutionality, or pass it on to the Sovereigns with approval. D'Oyly Court also is the supreme authority regarding interpretations of Common Law, Civil Law, Acts of Parliament, and the Constitution.
The New Party
Parliament is headquartered in Kensington, not too far from Kensington Palace and the Royal Gardens at Kensington. There are 646 seats in Parliament, and each member is refered to as a Member of Parliament (MP). Each of the 16 provinces recieves 40 seats. Each province's MPs are determined by a proportial representation. After the New Party regime was installed, the Parliament consists entirely of New Party MPs, except the cabinet members, which were retained by the PM.

Society
Civil and political rights are highly valued in British Londinium. The nation's schoolchildren are some of the most foul-mouthed in the country, and same-sex marriages are becoming increasingly common, skateparks can be found in every city, the Supreme Court vehemently protects civil rights and the right to privacy, British Londinium is notorious for its citizens' infidelity, and artists are pillars of society. Citizens can be frequently spotted going about their business stark naked, a National Academy regulates grammar and usage, the government helps teach children how to kill a man from six paces, and every product goes through extensive safety-testing by the government. Convicted murderers are free to walk the streets provided they attend rehabilitation classes, refugees from other nations are flocking to British Londinium's border, the nation is currently revamping its entire education system, and murderers frequently escape punishment by claiming they were protecting their honour. Main battle tanks stalk the woods of British Londinium in search of domo-kuns, elevator music has been replaced by thrash metal played at maximum volume, streakers swamp all public events in order to bare it all, and children are brainwashed at a young age to accept "Love and peace!" as a way of life. Pinkerton agents are called in to forcibly break up white collar strikes. New urban roads are threatening city parks, the government pours millions of ciceros into rehabilitation programs annually, 'The Anti-Government Hour' is a popular programme on many of British Londinium's radio stations, and the alarmingly racist TV show 'Bigtopians Say the Darndest Things' is a hit. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is moderate, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. The nation's youth is held blameless for all crimes, schoolchildren have twice-weekly sex education classes, drunk drivers are sent to rehabilitation paid for by the government, and cheese has become the new icon of political dissent. Crime is totally unknown.

Education is a major priority in British Londinium. The education system is centralised, but much authority rests within the provinces. The requirements to become a teacher are very stringent, and teachers recieve some of the largest paychecks in the nation. The schools run on a GCSE system, and there is a mandatory high school exit exam and university entrance exam.
Healthcare
The government offers a form of government healthcare, which is optional for all citizens.
