Etymology
The word Ania originated when Emperor Nnelg, Emperor Miikage, Emperor Arcana and Emperor Luxius were meeting. They decided to name their continent after the aniatism, the old nature religion which was practiced by most habitants of their nations since prehistory.
History
- See also: The War of Ages
Ania was created on February 11, 1990 when the nations of Gurenn, Deffice, Demontropius and Luxias united after the "peace" Treaty of Four was signed by the countries' respective leaders.
Geography and extent
Three of Ania's countries, Gurenn, Deffice and Luxiana are situated primarily on the mainland. The islands north and south of Gurenn belong to that nation, while the islands south and east of Luxias and the islands east of Deffice belong to those respective nations. An independent island called Demontropius is situated in the northeast, shrouded in mist. This mist disappeared briefly at the end of the War of Ages, but has returned again.
Physical geography
Land relief in Ania is relatively mountainous, especially in the south.
Biodiversity
The main natural vegetation cover in Ania is mixed forest. The conditions for growth are very favourable. Allthough deserts appear too. Gurenn is completely covered by forest. Luxias too, except for one island. Deffice is covered by forests for the greatest part, but the northeast and islands are covered by barren landscapes and deserts. The island of Demontropius is covered by forests in the north and east, but is barren and inhospitable for humans in the south and west.
Fauna on Ania is very rich. Gurenn is primarily inhabited by dragons, kappa and qilin. Deffice is primarily inhabited by foxes, kitsune, tigers and lions. Luxias is primarily inhabited by turtles, tanuki and snakes. Demontropius is primarily inhabited by wolves, phoenixes and tengu.
Demographics
Ania isn't very populous. The population of Ania is estimated to be 25 million according to the United Nations. The population is quick-growing, however.
