Cookesland is the descendant-state of two much older nations, they are The Constitutional Monarchy of Cookborough and The Free State of Aurania-Shifre.It was founded on January 1, 2007 by refugees from those two countries after they ceased to exist. Cookesland uses the Piero, an original national currency.

Cookesland is a Democratic Republic and it's full title is the United States of Cookesland

The nation is broken into several adminstrative districts called provinces, each is headed by an elected offical whose title is Governer. The elected official that sever in the government of the nations are also elected by the people.

Since its founding Cookesland has tried to make a name for itself on the worldstage, by such actions as joining Earth SYAE, NSSEI and just recently entered into the 33rd NationStates World Cup.

Cookesland also hopes to make the Cookeslandic Broadcasting Company(CBC) go global. Cookesland also has an emerging Film Industry in the city of Ariana, see Motion Pictures of NS

Geography

Cookesland is not a very large country but has a very varied terrain. In the north there are grassy plains, the central part of the nation consists of temperate woodlands, and the south there are dense rainforests. the eastern region is mostly coastal scrub and in the west, highlands. The entire land border of Cookeland is made up of mountain while the western coasts are generally flat and more tropical. The majority of the population lives in the western part of the country on the coastal plain. Most of the land border around Cookesland except the Northern Pass is made of mountain ranges, because of this Cookesland has always been a bit of an isolated country.

Culture & Customs

Cookeslandic culture is not very well known outside of the country. It is customary to go by your middle name in Cookesland and simply use your first name as an initial. e.g. John Michael Smith becomes J. Michael Smith.

International Politics

Cookesland for the most part is a right-wing state, most notably because of its Anti-Abortion Stance and Anti-Recreational Drug laws and its relaxed gun laws. This is not always the case because of the extensive civil rights the nation possesses including Gay Marriage and Gender recognition stances.

Another political stance is the "Situation" in Bercy. To the north of Cookesland lies the troubled land of Bercy. Bercy's government is too weak to keep order in the nation so Cookesland has a strong military presence there. This has caused internal and external anger in both Bercy and Cookesland.

NationStates Space Exploration Initiative(NSSEI)

Cookesland is a proud member of NSSEI and has its own lauch site at Jornan Island. INCA (Isares Naction Cookeslara Aversse) works hard with other Space Organizations from around the World to explore the many worlds outside NS Earth.
