Originally a race of migrating herders, the predecessors of the Galicians (known as Varangians) settled the lands known as Galicia-Volhynia and established a kingdom. After centuries of peaceful existence, a dynastic conflict gave way to 113 years of civil war. Rebellious nobles ended the major civil war, but lead to instability. Peace was restored through a second revolution and the creation of a national assembly known as the Valorum. They still refer to their language and culture as 'Varangian'
