Klopstock is a nation and associated player resident in The West Pacific, where he is an ambassador, a member of the West Pacific Liberation Force and a Town Councillor. Outside of TWP Klopstock is a Lieutenant in the Founderless Region Alliance's Rangers as well as an ambassador from that organization abroad. He is also a member of Great Britain and Ireland, where he has twice served as Prime Minister and three times as Foreign Secretary.
Originally founded on 13 November 2005, he was recruited into The YoungWorld where he served in The YoungWorld Defense Force (TYWDF), mostly assigned to Warzone Africa. As a member of the Senate, the debate club, and the Order of Light, he enjoyed his infancy in NationStates there. However, he departed TYW in late January 2006 when military reforms terminated his army career.
Klopstock moved to Great Britain and Ireland at the end of January 2006 hoping to experience a more British flavor to NationStates. He spent significant time in and out of both parliament and government, culminating in three stints as Foreign Secretary and two terms as Prime Minister. Among other achievements he introduced the Foreign Dispatch ambassadorial update, co-authored the Admiralty Act 2007, and negotiated the Treaty of the Sovereigns between Great Britain and Ireland, The Land of Kings and Emperors, Empires of Earth, and The New Inquisition. He also was active in the military, the founding of University of Great Britain and Ireland, and a devoted spammer.
In the summer of 2007, Klopstock diversified his NationStates activity outside of Great Britain and Ireland, especially in the defender sphere as both an ambassador to numerous defender organizations and as an active presence in the Founderless Region Alliance's military and diplomatic wings. Klopstock entered the service of the FRA Rangers on 08 June 2007, and of the diplomatic corps on 24 July 2007. Following the 'Succession Crisis' of 1 September 2007 and the failed installation of a new monarch in Great Britain and Ireland, Klopstock initially departed the region and retired from its political scene, being made Duke of Oxford. However, with the succession of a new monarch in the region and positive developments to match the new reign he wandered back and is once again active, having renounced his title on 3 November 2007.
In early September Klopstock emigrated to the West Pacific and officially took up residency on 8 September. He is currently a member of the Town Council, an ambassador, and a member of the WPLF, the military force of the region and the third defender service he has been a part of in his NS career.
Klopstock identifies as a libertarian politically, though his political fervor has diminished as the years go by. However, he is more importantly a Romanticist and that is built in to his character and identity in NationStates. In real life, Klopstock is a recent university graduate from California, though he travels frequently and has studied in the Massachusetts, the UK and Luxembourg. He loves history, literature, nature, animals, science fiction, film, and baseball, among many other things, places and people.
