The Republic of Latyaq (Arabic:الجمهورية الاتيقية Al Jumhuriyah Al Lataqiyyah) is a nation. It is a Republic, as it's name suggests. The nation was founded in June 2006. The Constitution was soon voted on and approved by the nation. The national news channel is Al Latyaqiyah.

History
Latyaq was founded in June 2006. As of right now it is only a few days old. The Constitution of Latyaq has been voted on, and passed, making the nation a Republic. Latyaq soon requested to become allied with some nation.
Politics
The Latyaq constitution was approved by the government only days after the nation was founded. Latyaq decided that it shall follow Lebanon's example, and the president must be Christian, and the Prime Minister must be Muslim. This arrangement is the "National Pact". Latyaq made Abdul Ahmad the president and Mahmoud Nejad the Prime Minister. The nation also has no official flag yet. Under the Latyaq constitution, the Christians and Muslims are both equally respected. Freedom of religion is guarenteed. Arabic is the official language, and Persian and Kurdish are recognized as minority languages. All schools must have language courses in at least Persian, English, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish.
Foreign Relations
Latyaq has alliances with Mercosis in the Al Iskandariyah Pact. The Scandinvins also formed an alliance in the The Valdra Accords. They also agreed to joined the Al Iskandariyah Pact.
Geography
Economy
The Nation is rich in oil. However, it is underexplored and no one has drilled it as of yet. Furthermore, Latyaq has no tradepartners, so the oil currently does the nation no good.
Demographics
Arabs are the dominant ethnic group, and they make up 95% of the population. The rest of the population are Persians, Kurds, Jews, and Europeans. Christianity and Islam are the two dominant religions, and both have nearly half of the country for their followers. Judaism is a minority religion. All the people speak Arabic, but many also understand English, Chinese, and Russian because they are popularly taught as extra languages.
