Lionsgate University is Kelssek's third-largest university and one of, if not the most, prestigious of its universities. It is particularly well-known for law, economics, medicine, and physics and is a leading research university. Although its strengths are in humanities and the arts, Lionsgate has also produced many prominent scientists and mathematicians.

The university was founded in 1627 by a Royal Charter granted to a group of scholars in Kirkenes to educate young nobles, in order to groom them for "just and able Government".

Lionsgate is a collegiate university, with its main functions divided between the central departments of the university and 17 colleges. In general, the departments perform research and provide centralised lectures to students, while the colleges are responsible for their domestic arrangements and welfare.
