The Continental Empire of Malatose is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, renowned for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate, cynical population of 6.712 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is effectively ruled by the Department of Defence, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Book Publishing and Information Technology.

Most of the military's funding goes into researching space-age weaponry, graffiti artists spend lengthy periods of time in jail, the nation's infamous boot camp is more brutal then most battlefields, and the nation's gigantic air force is both respected and feared. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Malatose's national animal is the Hawk, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the Credit.

HISTORY

The Nation of Malatose was founded in the year 2003, during The Great Age of Formation. During these years, the nation developed both politically and economically. However, this would all come to an end. Five months later, the nation was thrown into a massive civil war. This war, mostly started by the Socialist, raged for months, until finally the Socialist won. In the wake of the Socialist victory, hundreds lay dead and thousands injured. Hundreds were also exiled and the ones that weren't were quickly executed.

The years following; however, were prosperous for Malatose. The economy continued to rise, the military grew both in numbers and in technology. But this would all come to an end with the Socialist Government tightening it's grip on the people. Hundreds of corporations were nationalized and civilians were under constant fear of being arrested by the secret police. This would continue for years, until one man decided to take a stand.

Galius Falucia, a former political officer with Imperialistic views, was exiled during the rise of the Socialist Government. During this time, he continued to plot and plan for the freedom of his people. To do this, he began to organize various organizations, the largest one being called "The Order for a free Malatose". This group mostly consisted of former Military Officers and Soldiers who had defected.

With the support of the Military and Citizens worldwide, The Socialist Government was finally overthrown in a violent two in a half year civil year. In its place, The Continental Empire of Malatose was formed, with Galius Falucia proclaiming himself Emperor. This would be an Empire that would rule for generations, giving hundreds safety and a secure society.

Imperialization

With the rise of the Empire of Malatose, all the institutions of the old Socialist Government found themselves either dismantled or changed beyond recognition. The Senate became the Imperial Senate. The Soviat Army became the Imperial Army, and the Soviet Navy became the Imperial Navy and the four decrepit intelligence agencies of the Socialist Government were merged into Imperial Intelligence. The Palace of the People was rebuilt and expanded, becoming the Imperial Palace, eclipsing all other buildings in Lusankya. The Peoples Commission for Communism was renamed the Commission for the Preservation of the New Order (COMPNOR).

During the first few years of the Empire, the Nation saw the single largest military buildup in history. A council of Moffs was established to more efficiently govern individual Provinces and Overseas assets of the Empire.

The former Commission for the Protection of the Republic (COMPOR) was replaced with Commission for the Preservation of the New Order (COMPNOR). With the rise of the Empire, It started a process of stabilization and expansion of the economy. Imperialization resulted in dramatic increases in state control and centralization of economic procedures by Imperialization of commercial enterprise like VektorCorp.

Government and Politcs

The Empire of Malatose is ruled with absolute power by Galius Falucia, who has the power to make any decision he sees fit.

Grand Executor Sate Thomas is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of Malatose and the Bureaucracy. He also oversaw the myriad departments, bureaus and offices and acted as personal assistant to the Galius Falucia.

The Legislative Branch of Malatose was the Imperial Senate. Whereas the Socialist Senate had held both legislative and executive power, the Imperial Senate held only legislative power (and even with much of that held by the Senate now in the hands of Galius Falucia). The day-to-day head of the Senate was no longer the Vice Chair, but the Grand Executor.

The Senate is, at least in theory, responsible for choosing a new Emperor upon the death or abdication of the current holder of the throne.

The Governor of the various Imperial Provinces were known as Imperial Governors. The Imperial Governor system was established during the founding of the Empire. Each Governor is armed with little more than a broad mandate to monitor province government, and a force of soldiers that might be sufficient to secure their residence, maintain control in the surrounding streets, and provide protection to a few administrative personnel on detached duty.

Governors are also expected to maintain order, prevent corruption, enforce the law, and not otherwise interfere with the operation of the local bureaucracy. Technically, however, Within the civil chain of command, they were the formal superiors of all provincial Governors, while the paramilitary apparatus of COMPNOR and the intelligence networks now amalgamated as Imperial Intelligence were both supposed to be channeled through the Moff's office.

Economy

Malatose has a very complex and diverse economy. Following the Civil War, Malatose started a process of stabilization and expansion of the economy. While dramatic increases in state control and centralization of economic procedures, it had little effect on the Economy. This was evident with the massive rise of the GDP and rise of the Imperial Currency. In order to increase Imperial Control on the economy, the Imperial Government established the Imperial Industry and Commerce Council.

The Imperial Industry and Commerce Council is composed of the presidents or chief executive officers of the Imperial nationalized corporations and groups, the Imperial Industry and Commerce Council is an organization of businesses designed to improve, secure, and further Imperial corporate interests in the economy. The Council is overseen by the Imperial Ministries of Diplomacy and Finance, both of which serve as liaisons to the Council and Empire, and are dedicated to improving the holdings of each.

Responsabilites of this Council include Purpose, Expectations, Dispensations and the Bylaws that effect this elite group.

Corporations of this group include

Vektor Corp - The main military gun manufacturer for the Empire, Vektor Industries constructs such formidable weapons such as the Vektor G-20 assault Rifle. Vektor Corp has won many high profile military contracts that built its reputation.

Rendili Ship Yards - Ranked as one of the high ranking companies on the Imperial Industry and Commerce Council, Rendili Ship Yards plays a important role in Malatose. Rendili Ship Yards is known for the construction of the newly popular ships such as the Leviathon-class SuperCarrier and Daedalus-class Nuclear Guided-Missile Cruiser, which bristles with a plethora of weaponry making the Empire capable of defending itself against outside invaders.

Malatosian Imperial Jet Works - One of the veteran companies of the council, Malatosian Imperial Skyworks has won notable contracts as the producer of every aircraft in the Imperial Airforces inventory such as the MF-1 Vektor and MB-1 Ghost Strategic Stealth Bomber. While Malatosian Imperial Skyworks hasn’t won a contract in awhile, the company still continues to develop new technology that continues to intrigue Imperial Military strategists.

Rothana Heavy Engineering - Rothana Heavy Engineering is responsible for the development and Production of the Drakon Multi-Launch Rocket System, Panzerhaubitze-PZH 155mm Self-Propelled Artillery System, Heinkel Infantry Fighting Vehicle, and Tsar Surface-to-Surface Missle.

Although the Imperial Industry and Commerce Council manage the four major nationlized military corporations of the Empire, there are thousands of privatized companies, which supply both civilian and military goods.

Society

The culture in Malatose is ascetic and minimalist. These aesthetics are encouraged throughout the nation by the Coalition for Progress, an arm of COMPNOR. The Imperial Government is not particularly brutal in the suppression of artistic culture, as it is primarily interested in military and political dominance. However, pressures from the New Order have left their mark on the art of the Imperial period.

Imperial Soldier

The Imperial military is the military arm of the Empire of Malatose. It is responsible for carrying out military operations throughout the world, as well as maintaining order in colonies, and protectorates. Since, the Empire's New Order was based on fear and force, the Imperial military formed a very important part of the Imperial government. Even so, Some commanders would prove somewhat insubordinate, and a tension between the Lusankya government and the Generals existed throughout this period, creating the need for the ISB to install political officers throughout the military as minders.

There are many branches to the Imperial Military. Each branch is responsible for whatever purpose it served. For instance, the Army and CompForce corps are used for ground missions. The Imperial Navy is responsible for transporting all Army troops, and maintaining superiority in the open seas. The Imperial Airforce is reponsible for Air Superiority and protecting the skies of Malatose.
