Illyan

The Commonwealth of Illyan or simply Illyan is a large island nation founded and ruled by Chancellor J Illyan. Illyan is a nation of patriots, with the overwhelming majority of the citizenry being extremely dedicated to the Commonwealth and it's ideals. Many of the citizens had participated themselves in the revolution that formed the nation, and their spirit and devotion have not decreased with time. The population has shown that they support and trust the Chancellor, and are confident in the decisions he makes.

System of Government

The government of Illyan is a limited democracy, where only those who have proven their ability and dedication to the state are allowed to vote and make decisions. Many would label the Commonwealth as a fascist government, though that is not how the Illyanic citizens see it.

The population shows overwhelming support for the current administration, and more than 90% are able to vote. The main way of achieving voting status is Military or Government service, though other ways are possible.

Geography

The Commonwealth occupies the massive island continent of Illyana and is divided into 3 territories. The southernmost territory, Vyverin is the most populated and is where the capitol of Detroit is located. The western island of Errada produces much of the oil used by the Commonwealth. The northern territory of Liberty Fields is comprised of mostly plains and is where much of the food is grown for the population of Illyan.

Military

The Illyanic military is closely tied to the government, and is divided into 4 branches:

• The Illyanic Defense Force
• The Illyanic Expeditionary Forces
• The Air and Space Force
• The Illyanic Naval Forces

The Illyanic Defense Force (IDF)

The Illyanic Defense Forces are charged with the defense of the Commonwealth in case of an enemy invasion. They are heavily trained in urban combat, and defensive tactics. They are not equipped or trained for major offensive operations. When not in combat, the IDF serves as the police forces of the Illyanic Commonwealth. The IDF is smaller than the Illyanic Expeditionary Force, with about 12 million active personnel.

The Illyanic Expeditionary Force (IEF)

The Expeditionary Forces are the main offensive arm of the Illyanic military. Trained to perform in any type of combat, anywhere in the world, they are one of the most effective fighting forces on the planet. The average soldier gets between 1 and 2 years of training, with special forces and other specialists recieving more. The IEF has about 35 million active personnel.

The Air and Space Force (ASF)

The ASF is tasked with dominatind the skies in the event of a war. It actively researches the newest technologies to effectively gain the air superiority needed on the modern battlefield. The Air and Space force also controls any spy satellites or space based weaponry. The pilots and crew are all expertly trained, and are some of the best on earth. There are about 20 million active personnel in the ASF.

The Illyanic Naval Forces (INF)

The Illyanic Navy protects the long coastlines of the Commonwealth, and also serves to conduct any offensive operations at sea. It also functions to transport the Expeditionary Forces overseas. The INF mainly uses aircraft carriers, along with battleships. Currently, about 30 million personnel serve with the INF.
