The Confederated City States of Mikitivity were founded as a loose confederation of four cities: Miervatia, Klatuu, Barada, and Nikto. The seat of power of the City States has remained in Miervatia since the fortress city was founded over 1000 years ago on the bluff overlooking the Sheridan and Ivanova Rivers. Miervatia served as a trade hub for the other three cities, and a fall back point for the other three cities. The land-locked country is characterized by the sparsely populated Mon Calamari Mountain range to the east and the Spice Melange rich Plains of Dispair to the west. Located along the sesmically active center of Lemuria (also known as the North Pacific, the City States are subject to volcanic erruptions, earthquakes, flash floods, and blizzards. Throughout most of its history, the rugged people of Mikitivity have remained neutral, if not somewhat isolationist, but in the past half century global environmental problems have threatened the delicate balance the City States maintain with nature, thus awaking the otherwise reclussive mountain people.
