Pareesa Rahmati is an Ariddian reporter who works for Public International News Ariddia (PINA).

Born in Persepolis, Parthia, she grew up there and did well at school, eventually becoming a reporter for Parthian News Network, a news channel which broadcasts internationally and promotes explicitly patriotic, right-wing beliefs. Pareesa herself embraced the government line at first, then gradually began to question it as her work gave her access to other views, and to reports on oppression within her home country.

She developed communist sympathies, and found herself unable to continue propagating her government's propaganda. She defected first to Pacitalia then eventually to Ariddia. Once there, she trained briefly as a nurse, before obtaining work for PINA, as a newsreader then as a reporter. This makes her arguably the best known reporter to have defected from one international news channel to another.

She specialises in reporting on foreign conflicts and crises, as well as humanitarian issues. She often accompanies the Ariddian Red Star in its humanitarian work abroad, and, in addition to news coverage, provides assistance thanks to her training as a nurse. She writes articles for in-depth analyses of wars and humanitarian issues on PINA's website.

Rahmati remains a Zoroastrian, the religion she was brought up in. She speaks Persian, English, a little Pacitalian and a little French.
