The Islamic Sultanate of Sahndaq is a Sunni Muslim Constitutional Sultanate that seceded from the Quaonion Empire. It is name after its capital of the same name. It is one of the smallest nations in the region of the Middle East and is located in what was once the Sudan and Eritrea. It is bordered by the CNNP in the South. It has an eastern port to the Indian Ocean.

History

Sudan and Eriteria

The Sudan and Eritria were two states bordering each other in Africa. Their territory today makes up Sahndaq. The Sudan government was oppressive towards their people, denying them basic human rights. The Sudan began a genocide against people in Darfur. The government in a two years span killed over ten million black natives of Darfur. The international community generally ignored the Darfur crisis, not doing much more than condemning the Sudan government.

In an attempt to overthrow the oppressive government, a group of natives to Darfur and the rest of the Sudan formed themselves into a coalition by the name of God's Avengers. The group was predominantly Genesian Catholic and intended to start a coup against the government. They succeeded, killing the President of the Sudan. They attempted to establish a Catholic monarchy in his place. However, the forces of anarchy took hold in the Sudan. No authority was able to take power in the Sudan. The neighboring nation's instability caused Eritrea to also fall into anarchy.

Baltuvian Republic

After several years of anarchy, Ahmed al-Sheik bin Salaf al-Mohammed, a native of the Sudan, began gaining followers throughout the Sudan and Eritrea. He wished to establish a progressive Arab republic. About 75% of the population of the anarchic territories of the Sudan and Eritrea, tired of living in fear of violence and starvation, rallied arround Ahmed. On January 23rd, the Democratic Republic of Baltuvia was established. Ahmed took the title of Emir and began the first elections of Baltuvia.

Baltuvia quickly rose to prominence in the Middle East and North Africa. It was seen as one of the more modern states in the region. Parliament was quickly elected and a constitution was quickly drafted. Baltuvia joined the UN and founded the Middle East Space Agency, an international alliance whose mandate was to explore space.

However, Baltuvia's prosperity was not to last. When, on May 23rd, the Emir had a heart attack, a civil war broke out over whether his son, Ferna al-Sheik bin Salaf al-Mohammed should take the title of Emir or if the new Emir should be elected. Ferna's Loyalists began battling the Democratic Baltuvians in the nation. The Sudan and Eritrea again fell into anarchy as a three year war began. After three years, Ferna was captured by the Democrats and executed. However, the war had destroyed the foundation of the Baltuvian nation. Neither side of the civil war could take power.

Quaonion Colony

A year after the end of the Baltuvian civil war, the Free Empire of Quaon, interested in expanding into the Middle East, began to send military forces into former Baltuvia to see if it was suitable for colonization. The military advisors returned to Quaon and informed Prime Minister Quin Orbor that no government had formed in Baltuvia, thus it was ripe for the picking. The Prime Minister sent the Quaonion navy (which was based in Kiensland, as Quaon is itself landlocked) to former Baltuvia. The people of Baltuvia welcomed the Quaonions with open arms. Quin Orbor named one of his advisors, Sharlet Grayson, an immigrant from Sarawakh, the Colonial Prime Minister of the new territory, which was officially named Quaon Beta.

The Quaonions began exporting their liberal Russian culture to Quaon Beta. While most of the population of the colony was Sunni Muslim, they were open to new ideas and especially enjoyed the benefits of Quaonion rule, such as one of the best education systems in the world and great social services.
