The United States of Schnabo (IPA: /ʃnɑbɔ/ (Schnan: Eþoêrtéb Estéb'têrb an Escá'aníàn, New Schnan: Ажкутаву Сеаеукта Услаиэаи Ashkyetaby Sea'eyekta Yeskanian) is a huge, devout nation, remarkable for its devotion to social welfare. Its compassionate population of 646 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Education, and Social Welfare. The average income tax rate is 100%. A healthy private sector is dominated by the Automobile Manufacturing industry.

Long arduous trials are held for the most trivial of offences, the police have reaffirmed their tough stance on drugs, the tenet of free speech is held dear, and jails have become colloquially known as 'vampire houses'. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Schnabo's national animal is the Schnaboon, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Schnab (Сниав).

The main languages in Schnabo is Schnan, a language spoken by approx 97% of the people, and English, which is spoken by the whole population exept some areas in the east. Schnan is also more common in the east than in the west. The most common religions is Christianity (Catholism) and Schnaboism.

GDP/capita is 13,271, as of March 18th, 2007.

New Schnabo has their own government, but they obey under Schnaboian Law since New Schnabo is in the Schnaboian Union

Transport

The main transport in Schnabo is by train. The railroad system is very modern and it covers the whole country. Every major city has its own tram or subway system which is runned by each states Department of Transport (DoT). There is also a massive ferry traffic due to the large sea in Schnabo. The busiest ferry route is between Southport and Northport, which connects Schnæer Islands with the mainland.

The biggest airport in Schnabo is Schnabo International Airport (Escá'aníàn Ìltérúbšón Þílbíntés) which lies 30 kilometers (18.6 miles) outside of Schnabooton. There is also major airports in the west and on the northen islands. THe main airline is Air Schnabo, but there is many more flying daily to various destinations both domestic and in the Simtropolis region.

The road network in Schnabo have high standards and is made up by the interstate network and the Rural Highway Network. Schnabo has also been planing intercontinental highways, as this would make travel easier.

The main broadcaster in Schnabo is SEtv or SE, created from the English and the Schnan name for the chanel. SEtv has 3 TV-channels which broadcasts on Schnan and English, and one, SEtv bà Habedá, which broadcasts in New Schnan. They also broadcast 4 radio channels. The TV-channels broadcast all-day-round with many different programs. SE 1 sends more news, while 2 and 3 sends more entertainment and movies. Each state has their own news which broadcasts every day at 8 am, 1 pm, 6 pm and 11 pm on SE 1. There is not only SEtv channels, there are also 4 more networks, SimNB (Simtropolis News Broadcasting, broadcasting news from all over Simtropolis), STV (SchnaboTV, entertainment channel), FEC (Free Entertainment Channel and Ne þev (Five), which broadcasts everything from sitcoms and movies to news and reports). There are also much more networks available through, for example, satellite.

Politics

Election are held annualy for the Scherelek, the parliament of Schnabo. The party or coalition with the most votes are allowed to form a government which last until the next election. The president is both the head of government and head of state. The current president is Jonathan Wilington, although Daniel Linder, the vicepresident, took over recently because of Wilingtons hospital visit. If anything happends to the president, the vice president becomes acting president.

The most recent election was held at 3rd July, 2007. In that election, the current government with the Schnaboian Social Democratic Party (SSDP) and the Environmental Party (EnvPar) was challenged by the Conservatists (Con) and Christian Democratic Party (CDB). After five years of governing, SSDP and EnvPar was defeated by 50.7% against 46.1% and Con and CDB formed a government. The results from the -07 elections was:

Demographics

Language

The main language in Schnabo is Schnan, followed by English. English is often used for official purposes, like public announcements and such. English is also commonly used in the larger cities, although the entire population speak Schnan and understands it, since most of the education is done in Schnan. New Schnan, or Habeda, is also used, but almost only in the western states of the country. French is also considered a minor language, spoken by the french communities in eastern parts of Schnabo. These communities are most common in the Souterland-states.

Ethnicity

Most of the population is Caucasian, due to low immigration rates in recent years. Out of the approx. 135 million inhabitants, only 5,1 million is immigrants. About 800,000 is reported to be illegal immigrants, according to a recent study by the Department of Demographics. A large group of the population are French descendents, who came to the country during it's early years.

Military

The schnaboian military contains four divisions: Þílnàbèt (The Air Force), Þotéberwé (The army), Waberìlé (The navy) and Eriwĸþóreskúlùlscêtrèt (Space research center).
