Tetris L-Shaped Block
The Tetris L-Shaped Block (TЄTЯIS L-SHДPЄD ЪlФCK in "Block" Alphabet characters) is located in the Gameboy Tetris Cartridge, and is a practicaly unarmed but tightly controlled socialist democracy. The L-Shaped Block is ruled by an elected player- who is never seen, but the effects of his lack of checks and balances is seen throuhgt the block. The Capital City is named "Gameboy City" and was named after the cartridge in which the Tetris L-Shaped Block is contained in. It has a beautiful city and somewhat resembles moscow (incidentaly, moscow is where tetris was programed)
Tetris L-Shaped Block is a U.N. Member, but often refuses to vote due to large spread political apaty extending from the citizens to the U.N. delegates.
Tetris L-Shaped Block has traditionaly been called an "8-bit Socialist Republic", but the U.N. has considered it a "Civil Rights Lovefest" despite the nation's dissaproval of this label
Founding and History
The Tetris L-Shaped block was created when the population of an unstable (ex)nation called "The Red Free States" demanded the rights to "Be 8-bit, Float, Ignore Gravity, and spin at 90 degree angles!" Naturaly the leaders of the free state showed much scorn to the rebels, causeing a civil war. The civil war ended several years later with the Tetris Rebels fleeing the country and takeing refuge in a nearby gameboy cartridge.
Once they arrived, they found that the uninhabited L-Shaped block would make a great home, and started by building the great Tower (Right).
The Tower would stand for 82 years, untill a great war with the now destroyed nations of "Tetris R-Shaped Block" and ""Led Zeppeiln" would cause it's destruction. The war with the previously unknown R-Shaped block would bring mass destruction to both sides, but economic prospherity to the L-Shaped block. Now in Post-War Tetris L-Shaped Block, the country has been able to forge great allyances with the nations of Asian Computer Nerds, Philanchez, Palixia, Spooty and Socialist Freemen
August 18th Coup of Pink Floyd
On august 18th, the Tetris L-Shaped block lead an invasion to unite the regions of the Floydian States and Pink Floyd. But, due to the apathic governments of the region of Pink Floyd, the Floydian states was instantly the victors in a bloodless coup.

Alliances
Philanchez - Has been a long standing ally of the Block, and supported the L-Block durring the war with Tetris R-Shaped Block
Socialist Freemen - Supported the Red Free States, and after the Civil war, continued to support both sides untill the Red Free States crumbled.
Palixia - Has been the countries greatest tradeing partner, despite political differences. It is said that a man from Palixia started the Church of Floyd with a Spoot and Sean Philips of Philanchez, and a man (who would become the Player of Tetris L-Shaped Block) helped him decorate and design the church.
Spooty - Supplys blocks with the odd and somewhat pointless products. adminsterd by the government of course.
Asian Computer Nerds - A realatively new nation, for some reason the L-Shaped block has been helping it.
A rivalry
Recent tensions with The Imperial Race have been becomeing increaseingly problematic for the block. The tensions have been caused by idealogical differences between diplomats of the two nations.
In august 20th, that very thing happened; a Short War in "Pink Floyd occured between the two powers. After many problems, was resolved with a peace treaty. This act of non-agression has been a signal to many in the L-Shaped block that the two governments are no-longer at odds...but the government still sustains many suspicions.
Long after the war ended, the peace has since been uneasy. With Recent bombings, the government is infuriated, dispite the small amount of support the terrorists have gained. The 1000-5000 estimated imperialist citizens are extreamly looked down upon in Tetris L-Shaped Block society, even upon people who are very anti-government. Though the government has yet to lift the ban on an Imperialist Party, they somehow find ways to meet. The Government of the block refuses to act (the only options being a democide or an attack on the imperial race) due to the small amount of dissidents, though The Imperial Race continuously and publicly supports them.

Esperanto In the Tetris L-Shaped Block
Being that the language of the state was originaly russian, the way of writeing the latin alphabet is a little influenced. These differences have made the country's written Esperanto seem like more of a creole to outsiders. Aside from that, before the government made it manditory for everyone to speak esperanto, they inacted a few other changes to make it "simpler" and more "equal".

Esperanto: Saluton, Kielas vin fartas?
"Block" Esperanto: ¿SДLЦTФП, KIЄLДS VIП FДЯTДS?
Differences
-"Block Esperanto" unlike Esperanto, does not assume the masculine gender as the default for family relationship words, and thus does not, for example, derive the word for "sister" by adding a feminine suffix to the word for "brother", as standard Esperanto does.
-"Block Esperanto" imposes consistent rules on the use of endings to transform a word from one meaning or part of speech to another, thus simplifying the amount of vocabulary memorization that is necessary.
-Esperanto requires the use of the -n ending to signify the use of the accusative case. "Block Esperanto" allows the use of this feature in ambiguous situations where the object of a sentence does not follow the subject, but in all other situations the accusative case was eliminated as redundant.
-"Block Esperanto" uses upsidedown Exclamation points (¡) and Question marks (¿) at the beggining of sentences requireing them (like spanish).
-"Block Esperanto" dose not use capitals
-"Block Esperanto" dose not use the latin alphabet,
the "Block Alphabet" is as follows: Д Ъ C Ĉ D Є F G Ĝ H Ĥ I J Ĵ K L M П Ф P Q Я S T Ц V Ш Ж Ч ζ (Ŭ has been phased out, but in most signs a Ц with the breve on it appears). The Ж has no sound, and an X dosen't appear in regular esperanto.
-Block Alphabet ues the silent Ж character (nonexistant in regular esperanto) for showing an abbreviation. The symbol appears before the acronym/abbreviation so that speakers know to pronounce the entire word, and it is easily distinguishable. For Example "Tetris L-Shaped Block" becomes, ЖTLSЪ short for TЄTЯIS L-SHДPЄD ЪlФCK
Education
Everyone is Tetris L-Shaped block gets a free government paid education. All Schools (from kindergarden to University) are owned by the government. It is manditory to attend school from 4 years old to 12 years old. From then on it is completely optional. Schools in the Tetris L-Shaped Block are distinct in that they don't use gradeing systems and don't teach or encourage competition. When being taught language, students get 3 years (from 1st grade - 3rd grade) of "block" esperanto, and from then on can take 3 language classes a year (the most popular choices being "advanced Literature (in esperanto), Russian, and English). Due to learning esperanto, the students tend to catch on to language mechanics very easily.
Another distict feature about the Tetris L-Shaped Block education system is that homework is completely optional. Students who complete homework or do extensive study are praised, and those who don't are not scolded. Testing takes place once every 6 months of class (students get 4 months of summer off, and go to school monday-saturday), and students with high scores are often not cared for (the idea is that they are self motivated), with those below average getting high amounts of attention.
Tetris L-Shaped Block students have a very rigorous math program (with many studetns being marked as below average within the first few years of Testing). The state has set up personal tutors, and group lessons for those who need less special attention. Test scores have indicated that students usualy hit the average (very much above average in the world community) by the 7th grade.

Election of 2003
The Tetris L-Shaped Block elections saw the highest voter turn out since the 1922 elections, with a Turn out of 35.7% (up from the 1995 election's 9.4%). Politicaly not many seats in the house of common's changed, with the 8-Bit socialist party maintaining the leadership position. Some think the reason for the increase of voters is due to the sense of patriotism caused by increased tensions with The Imperial Race. The main topics for debate were The [[Church of Floyd]'s place in society, dealing with the Imperial Race, wartime debts of the 4 day war, and lowering the dropout age. The "Player" was not changed, and the policits continue to be very apathic.

Because Tetris L-Shaped Block is the irl brother of IsraeliPalestine, Both were in the un and Endorse eachother, and they are both used the same computer, The nation states moderaters banned both nations from the UN. Due to this Tetris L-Shaped Block can never reutrn to his former status as UN delegate, nor can he be delegate durring the rebuilding of Pink Floyd. Originaly, Israelipalestine was not a UN nation, and was registed to the same email account, but when he got his own, he joined the un and endorsed Tetris L-Shaped Block. They were in the UN togeather for two months untill the NS moderators decided that it was not legit.
