The First Thorin War was a war that encompassed several countries within the region of Thorin in the year 774 AF. Involved in this war were the countries of Makh Allet, Thingamajiggers, Kruschuchk, Xerkunia, Tolmekistan, and Arbitenitant.

This war was followed in 826-827 AF by The Second Thorin War.

The Collapse of Makh Allet

Makh Allet was a small country situated on a peninsula neighboring Thingamajiggers, an autocratic society that had split off from the latter country. In 773, Makh Allet's government collapsed due to its autocratic ruling style, lack of regard for its population, and the death of Azkabar Kanath, the dictator who had been responsible for the creation of the country. The government was unable to survive the death of Kanath, who held the people in his fist under the title of "Jingh", an ancient word for "ruler".

Most citizens, finally fed up with the Jingh, were not sad to see the dictatorship end, despite their nationalistic tendencies. Some, however, were less than happy with the events. Most of these people were either blindly patriotic or had benefited from the reign of Kanath due to their positions in his government. These people blamed Thingamajiggers for the collapse of their government. They claimed that, being their age-old enemy, the nation had infiltrated their government, weakening it and assassinating the Jingh with poisons.

The "Day of Terror"

Those who shared these sentiments formed a terrorist group, which they called "Alleti Gol", Du-Hickazn for "Mountain Sun" (the Misca Mountains separated Makh Allet and Thingamajiggers; Makh Allet actually means "Mountains of Struggle"). On April 2, 774, Alleti Gol attacked the city of Hydranj, Thingamajigger's capital. With amazing timing, they simultaneously set off bombs within the Assembly Chamber, the Executive Chambers, the Hall of Justice, and the city's central plaza, killing half of the Dominion Assembly, the Karnbeln (the executive leader of Thingamajiggers) and his deputy, and all but one Central Court Justice, as well as 19 civilians and 36 government employees. The government was in chaos. No one knew who was in charge of the country or if more attacks would occur.

The Kruschuchkian Invasion of Thingamajiggers

It was then that Kruschuchk struck. Two days after the Day of Terror, on April 4th, Kruschuchk's Red Army attacked the confused and weakened government of Thingamajiggers. They easily occupied the country, which was unable to pull together its army. Kruschuchk occupied the country for 7 months before the (now in hiding) government finally was able to strike back against the invaders. Fortunately, this happened as Kruschuchk was attacked from the other side simultaneously by Thingamajiggers's unexpected allies.

The Second Xerconian Civil War

Xerkunia, the small nation to the east of Kruschuchk that considered itself the remnants of Xerconia, recalled Xerconia's ancient alliance with Thingamajiggers, which dated back to the end of the Thingamajiggeri-Xerconian Cold War. This, combined with its hatred for what it considered to be a treasonous, false government, led to Xerkunia attacking Kruschuchk on its home front. Due to having to spread its troops out and fight two countries at once, Kruschuchk could not hold on to Thingamajiggers, despite its superior military. It pulled out of Thingamajiggers as it started to lose the defensive war against its neighbor.

It eventually was defeated by Xerkunia and the remnants of Tolmekistan, the capitalist break-away of Xerconia that had come about during the first civil war, which was resisting after having been invaded during this second civil war by Kruschuchk. Xerkunia re-established the Kylplax, the ruling body of Xerconia, reformed the older empire of Xerconia.

The Massacre of the Night of Raining Fire

Amid all of this panic, everyone forgot about Arbitenitant, a small country to the west of Thingamajiggers. Arbitenitant was a country of religious extremists from Zirconia that had fled the sub-region to create a theocracy. Arbitenitant declared with vile that "Terrorism is an affront to the gods!", and took it upon itself to punish the "wicked". Holding all of Makh Allet accountable for the actions of a few, it launched a fleet of ships towards the peninsula and deluged the country with an armada of missiles, some nuclear, on November 21, 774. The genocide, as far as anyone knows, was total, although it is believed a few Alletians in the mountains at the fringes of the country may have survived and fled to Thingamajiggers, blending in with their genetic brothers.

This was the end of the once proud people that spanned the lifetimes of Thingamajigs, Thingamabobbers, and Makh Allet. All nations mourned the atrocity, which became a national day of memorial in many countries in Thorin.

The Aftermath

Xerconia, as it had been before, was a dictatorship, in natural opposition to the other regional power of Thingamajiggers. Along with Xerconia, Thingamajiggers was once again wary of all Zirconians, as well as anyone who declared themselves an "ally", as Thingamajiggers had believed the communist Kruschuchk to be.

As the newly elected officials of Thingamajiggers began to assess the situation, however, the situation seemed quite different. It was realized just how convenient things had worked out for Xerkunia, and it was decided that Xerkunia had probably planned the whole thing, planting agents within the Kruschuchkian government with the ultimate goal of overthrowing Kruschuchk and restoring the Kylplax of Xerconia. While Thingamajiggers could not be sure of this, it decided that it was likely enough that they should secretly give aid to the remnants of Kruschuchk, especially since they believed they were much better off being neighbors with a democratic superpower than an authoritarian one. While continuing its public face of hating all that had to do with Zirconia as a whole, Thingamajiggers and Gis Mone secretly sent a message to the leader of the the remnants of Krushchuchk, offering support. However, this message never reached its recipient, who disappeared without a trace, presumably captured by the black army. Shortly after this, all remnants of Kruschuchk ceased to exist. This conspiracy theory remains popular within the more liberal countries of Thorin, but has never been proved.

Until the current day, the peninsula of Makh Allet has remained uninhabited.

The Kylpzax eventually was transformed into the Xylpzax, with Xerconia becoming capitalist.
