The Constitutional Monarchy of Vincenz is a small, safe, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its burgeoning osprey population. Its intelligent population of 16 million are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.

The large, socially-minded government juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Education, and Defence. The average income tax rate is 34%, but much higher for the wealthy. A very small private sector is dominated by the Information Technology industry.

A large-scale revitalization of the education system is underway, scientists regularly clone human embryos for research purposes, tariffs protect local industry, and military spending is on the increase. Crime is totally unknown. Vincenz's national animal is the osprey and its currency is the dollar.

Religion

The government of Vincenz is somewhat anti-religious and supports no state religion. However, citizens are free to worship any religion they choose. Over 65% of the country are either Agnostics or Atheists. The leading religion of the country is Christianity, followed by Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, and a surprising (though not especially high) number of citizens following the Roman Pantheon and Zoroastrianism.

Media

The most read newspaper is the Vincenz Sentinel. Vincenz is also home to a growing number of radio and TV stations, all based in larger cities. However, the most watched television and radio stations are the publicly funded Vincenz Television Network (VTN) and Vincenz Public Radio (VPR). Most cities also have at least one local newspaper and news radio station.

Economy

Although the government controls the production and distribution of staple resources and utilities such as oil, electricity, and water, Vincenz does have a substantial private sector, known for its fair business and lack of corruption. Major industries include the information technology industry, as well as prominent automobile manufacturers and software firms.
