The Jevian United Nations Representative Election of 4163 (JY) was the third election in the history of the JUNR, and occured immediately after the House of Jevian Representatives Election of 4163. The election resulted in a very different face for Jevian United Nations representation, as only 5 of the 15 past Jevian UN Representatives were reelected to their positions. As in the past, the voting representatives maintained great support for Emperor Drew Domz, electing him to his third term as the Presiding Jevian UN Representative, as well as Vance Aceon, receiving his second selection as Deputy Presiding Jevian UN Representative. Popular young representative Paldric Lyons came in third in the election process, and thus was not granted a position of power within the JUNR, but still retained his previous position in the house.
Overview
Rules
The Jevian United Nations Representative (JUNR) Election begins with the House of Jevian Representative (HOJR) Election. In 4163, 153 representatives were elected from around Jey: 2 from each of the 75 states, and one from each of the three territories. Each citizen is given two votes, except those residing in territories, who receive one. The 20 representatives who received the highest percentage of votes out of the 153 elected officials are placed on a special board for the indirect election of the JUNR.
Each member of the 20-representative board is given 25 votes. The representative may not vote for his or herself, and lists 25 of the 152 other representatives in order of preference. The preference is then appropriated through reciprocals, and the 15 most popular candidates are placed on the JUNR; the most popular becomes the Presiding Jevian UN Representative; the 2nd most popular becomes the Deputy Presiding Jevian UN Representative.
An example of the reciprocal rules for the voting procedure: Representative A votes for 5 candidates in the indirect election. He lists them in order of preference: 1st: B, 2nd: C, 3rd: D, 4th: E, and 5th: F. In the reciprocal rule, candidate B receives 1 point for being listed first, candidate C receives 1/2 of a point for being listed second; candidate D receives 1/3 of a point, and so on.
Preliminaries
Before the actual election of the JUNR, the HOJR election needed to be taken place. In this context, the HOJR election is considered the preliminary of the JUNR election, as those elected to the HOJR then indirectly choose the members of the JUNR. The 20 representatives of the HOJR who would cast votes were determined by the 20 highest percentages of votes in the HOJR election of 4163.
(Bolded representatives were within the top 20 and casted votes in the JUNR election.)
