The Deep South Football League is a professional domestic football competition in the Grand Dominion of Bedistan, located on the seventh level of the Bedistani league system.
Structure
The Deep South League consists of a single division of eight clubs. League play consists of a total of 14 matches for each club, as they play each other club twice, once at home and once away. Final league standings are determined first by points (three per win and one per draw), then by goal difference (goals conceded subtracted from goals scored), and then by goals scored. So far there has never been a situation where a tie still resulted after all three criteria were taken into account.
The champion enters a playoff against the 13th-place finisher in either the Bedistan Football League Conference North or Conference South, whichever one had the better record over the whole season. If the Deep South champions win, they promote and their opponents relegate (though not necessarily to the Deep South League); otherwise, the status quo remains. There is no relegation from the Deep South League.
