Desjardins University is a major English-language university and one of the foremost institutions of higher learning in Kelssek. A research-intensive university, it has built an impressive academic reputation and is recognised for being on the cutting edge of medical, chemical and biological research. It was founded in 1821 as King's University and was renamed in 1905 after Louis Desjardins, Kelssek's first elected head-of-state, who was an alumnus of the university.
