The Feng Huang, or Phoenix, class carrier is the primary carrier of the Firehelper Navy. They are routinely used in diplomatic incidents where the Empire of Firehelper wishes to exert its influence.

Design

Flight Deck

Like many other flight decks, the light deck of the Feng Huang is angled. It has four electro magnetic catapults that reduce the strain on aircraft during take off. There are three elevators to raise aircraft to the deck. The stern of the ship also contains four arrestor wires.

Hull

The ship has a double hull. Its bow is also a hurricane bow. It has been designed to be stealthy with a covering of radar absorbing material and the addition of angles to deflect radar waves. The double hull is heavily reinforced and can absorb quite a punishment. Recent advances in Firehelper have also allowed the addition of swiveling weapons system that retain the stealthiness of the ship but can swivel and shoot in combat when detected. This allows for a uncommonly large amount of weapons on the ship compared to other aircraft carriers. It also uses a Bulbous bow design which improves hull efficiency and reduces drag.

endurance

The Feng Huang aircraft carrier contains enough good and water for 50-55 days. It carries enough fuel for each plane to launch 2.5 full missions. It also has a unlimited operating range which allows it to be used anywhere is the world.

Command Redundancy

The bridge, while offering a good command point, is a very big target. Should it be destroyed the artillery command center comes online. From this room the command of the ship can still be carried out though with less efficiency. It uses a patchwork of cameras around the ship to provide a panoramic view in the room. Other cameras may also monitor the activity on the deck of the ship, tho9ugh this is usually no longer nessecary as planes are vulnerable targets to shells.

Hanger

The hanger takes up an entire deck and can store a maximum of 90 aircraft. the elevetors allow these aircraft to be raised onto the ship.

Power

The Feng Huang uses 2 reactors that produce 200 MW each

Speed

The Feng Huang has a top speed of 38 knts but has a max cruise of 33 knts.

Weapons

The Feng Huang carries Several SAM and SSM missile launcher assemblies and the missiles to reload them four times. It also carries a very large amount of CWIS for defense. Of all these CWIS 8 are located on the deck and the rest are in the double hull.

Other

[*] Passive jet blast deflector: Redesigns and new materials mean reduced maintenance costs. [*] Island designs: Improve flight deck access and reduce signature and electronic self-interference. [*] Signature reduction: Curved flight deck edges smaller islands and internal aircraft elevators add up to maximum stealth. [*] Aircraft pit stop: Semi-automated refueling and servicing in a new configuration and deck location provides faster, more efficient airwing pit stops and requires fewer people. [*] Manpower reductions: Technology, space rearrangement, operational procedure changes, advanced sensor technologies and condition-based maintenance systems all allow for a smaller, specially-trained crew. [*] Reconfigurable spaces: Life-of-the-ship modular construction designs provide flexibility and reduce cost. [*] Expanded bandwidth: More onboard and offboard capability gives the ship a communications edge. [*] Zonal electrical distribution systems: Isolate the potential for problems and minimizes the effect on the rest of the ship. [*] Automation insertion: Material movement devices, semi-autonomous, gravity compensated weapons handling devices, damage control automation systems and components will reduce the ship's crew and costs.
