Emperor
An Emperor (f. Empress) is the absolute sovereign over the breadth of the entire empire. The latin versions of this rank are m. Imperator and f. Imperatrix.

King
A King (f. Queen) is the ruler of a large section of the empire, usually commanding several princedoms. There are normally no kings or queen operating on a national level, this is usually only for use on local city-states, such as the city of Hades. Viceroy is a much more common title than King. Governor Generals often hold the official rank of Viceroy or Vicereine. The latin versions of this rank are m. Rex and f. Regina.

Prince
An individual holding the rank of Prince (f. Princess) is technically above that of a Viceroy but below that of a King. Imperial Princes are not included in, as they are immediate family of the Emperor. Princedoms are usually smaller land entitlements that that of a Viceroy, but one such exception is that of the Prince of Greater Palestine, a position legally held only by the eldest male of the immediate family of the Emperor. Grand Duke
Grand Dukes (f. Grand Duchess) are usually senior royal officials and can be found in many offices throughout the imperial government. The majority of Imperial Senate members are Dukes. Grand Duke is just one form of Duke. The latin versions of this rank are m. Magnus Dux and f. Magna Ducissa.

Archduke
Archdukes (f. Archduchess) are usually senior royal officials and can be found in many offices throughout the imperial government. The majority of Imperial Senate members are Dukes. Archduke is just one form of Duke. The latin versions of this rank are m. Archidux and f. Archiducissa.

Elector is a non-hereditary and non-royal rank, this rank is given to members of the Emperor's Privy Council only. There are no latin version of this rank.

Visecount or Earl is the highest title a commoner can attain, this rank is usually held by local politicians (such as mayors) and landholders who operate on local scales (such as farmers.) Land holding Visecounts/Earls must pay feudal dues to the crown. The latin versions of this rank are m. Vicecomes.

Marquess
Marquess (f. Marchioness) are usually high ranking commoners who hold little political power but are financially well off. A common belief is that this is a 'purchased' rank. The latin versions of this rank are m. Marchio and f. Marchionissa.

Baron
Barons (f. Baroness) are knights or dames who have proven themselves quite loyal to the crown and thus given further authority. Rich businessmen/women are often found in this rank, as well as the Visecount and Earl ranks. The only difference between a Visecount and Baron is the requirement of land and feudal dues. The latin versions of this rank are m. Baro and f. Baronissa.

Knight
A Knight (f. Dame) may hold territory, but not to the extent of higher ranked individuals. Knightdom is usually a honorary bestowment, a gift or reward for service rendered to the crown.
