Fod, officially The Unitary Empire of Fodmodmadtol ( Latin: Imperium Consociare Foda ), is located mainly in epsilon eridani with various universal territories. It's inhabited by a culturally affluent population of over four billion. People typically prefer a communal system of government with liberal social policies. A libertarian socialist government is currently in control.

Fod has remained in isolation for a majority of its existance, international interaction considered necessary under special circumstances. Exceptions have been DPUO, The Island of Rose as well as the Order of the Seraphim and the First Communist International. The Fodist people are infamously rebellious at home, though crime is virtually unknown thanks to a well-funded police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare.

Geography

Main Article: Fod Proper

The geography of Fod is greatly varied due to its unique territotrial possessions. Fod Proper is based in epsilon eridani on Soprano. It consists of several atmospheric, hydrologic, and geologic layers. Its components are the atmosphere, the aquasphere, the sufosphere, the mantle and the core. The vivesphere in this composition is usually not considered part of the physical layers of Soprano. The system itself is enveloped in a dust disk.

Fodist Domestic Standard

The Fodist Domestic Standard (FDS) was created by the Yoshi Regime to regulate date and time. Before the FDS system was set in place, date and time were measured by abstract regional standards over which business couldn't transfer. The esteemed Doctor Freedman, in conjunction with the National Academy of Science, devised the FDS system by calculating the movement of celestial bodies of Fod Proper. The Fodist Calander has 360 Die, held in 60 Hebdoma, held in 12 Mensi, held in one Annu. (Consequently, 6 Die are held in a Hebdoma, 30 Die and 5 Hebdoma held in a Mensi.) Annu are calculated from the birth of Christ.

History

Armistice

By the turn of 1390 three major nations dominated Fod; Troj, Pars and Naks. A century of fighting with one another over territorial possessions, specifically Cairo, had led to troubled times. With Troj on the edge of collapse, Amun, the Lord of Troj, called an armistice. Amun invited the lords of Pars and Naks, Mont and Horu respectively, to convene at Cairo in 1393. Talk started immediately, and almost ended the same day. While Amun was able to settle the dispute with Mont and Horu, the others wouldn't settle with either. Both held principles rooted in two completely opposite religions, Ali'a and Zor'a. Horu left Cairo set on continuing war. In 1396, with war on every front, Amun once again invited Mont and Horu to Cairo. Horu refused to appear. With him absent, Amun and Mont talked easily, and an agreement was reached within the summer. Troj and Pars would become united and conquer Naks, the reason for all trouble. Amun offered his daughter, Nyx, as a peace offering to Mont. Completely shocked by this sign of devotion, Mont refused, insisting that Nyx be treated with the highest of respect. In 1399, Naks was conquered. Amun and Mont agreed to remain united, and created Fod as it's now known. They agreed that Nyx, a symbol of empathy, would take charge when they died.

Old Fod

Nyx was handed control of Fod in 1400. For the next century relatively little occurred. Nyx formed the government into a more solid being, edicts passed quietly improving commerce and living quality. People were generally content. Nyx met with representatives from across the Empire throughout this period and drafted the Governing Charter of Fodmodmadtol. It was declared law in 1414. It wasn't until 1492 the first signs of trouble appeared. In an explosive wake up call, the Fod government came under attack in an event known as the Massacre at the Ministry. Countless were injured and a high ranking government official was assassinated. The attack revealed a shocking scandal in Fod government, and from this point on a feeling of resentment would begin to grow. An anarchic movement appeared after Fod government published Radicalist Report, 1492. People demanded reform. In 1505 there was an attack in Cairo in which Fod government facilities were taken by rebels. Cairo was besieged until the following year when the rebellion collapsed. Nyx was abducted during the occupation. She was never seen again.

Early Fod

The daughter of Nyx, Yoshi, assumed power. Yoshi was preoccupied mostly with reconstruction and stabilization. Martial law was enforced immediately following the Clover Rebellion and wasn't revoked until a referendum was initiated in 1624. With most of the public angry with Fod government Yoshi was coerced into loosening Fod government regulations and restrictions on commerce. The Fod market was officially opened in 1682, and private enterprise exploded. Instead of pleasing the public as it was intended to do, the open Fod market instigated capitalist associations. Around 1728 Yoshi's health began failing, and in 1730 opted for euthanasia. A majority of programs started by Yoshi failed.

Later Fod

The daughter of Yoshi, Nokona, assumed power. Unlike between Nyx and Yoshi, a major ideological difference existed between Nokona and Yoshi. Upon ascendency, Nokona instated an instant laissez faire, laissez passer policy. Fod government was completely dissolved, Nokona dividing industry into businesses and installing advisors as business leaders. This instantaneous reaction upon ascendency was cheered by the public. For a while there was a general peace. This ended abruptly in 1731 when Nokona announced that Kay Medical, her corporation, would begin a hostile takeover of every existing Fod business. By 1732 Kay Medical has acquired complete control of the Fod market. With materials and services monopolized by a non-governmental, non-democratic entity, Fod was held under the most effective control in history. In 1802 Nokona hit menopause and delcared regional war in The New Roman Empire. This was followed by a precision Rosian liberation. The regional war was averted. Nokona was displaced.

Modern Fod

Sacha, speaker of Cairo, assumed control in 1804. By this time the government was ineffective, business holding soveriegn authority. A confidant of Sacha, Jordan, was forcibly installed as the executive of Kay Medical. (The institution of Kay Medical was dissolved, executive members incarcerated). With a friend in Kay Medical Sacha created Fodmodmadtol Administration-Corporation, a privatized government bound by contract to protect the citizen.

Administration

Fodmodmadtol Administration-Corporation or FAC is composed of three divisions. The Imperial House, the Popular House, and the Hated House. Each division indirectly checks the other divisions. Participation in FAC is allowed only if an applicant scores a 1.00 on the CAT.

Corporation

From the trenches of the Ekonomy rose several Corporations which have buried any competition. Eleven in all have been created, outstanding in each of their own aspects. The Corporations hold to themselves a significant portion of the Fodmodmadtol Ekonomy, none being able to survive without one other, and none being able to grow with another. A constant battle between these behemoths creates an astonishingly stable marketplace. Lethal competition from these forces usually drives opposition into the dust within a single fiscal year. The registered consumer, registered voter, supports whichever Corporation would suit their Ekonomic needs.

Kay Medical

Personal Arms Manufacturing and Medicinal Industry monolith solely responsible for the rise of Corporate in Fodmodmadtol. The Kay Medical monopoly on the health care industry ensures its stability. Almost all cheap medication produced will leave you with a bout of something else. Not to say they don't produce some of the finest medication ever know- But prices for what will actually work is affordable only by the elite. Kay Medical controls a system called IRC; Internet Radio Connection.

One Beacon

Monopoly of the Mining and Refining Industries. Renowned for its exploitation of natural resources, and milking every drop of profit from what they dig up. Control of most, if not all domestic raw material, lays with One Beacon. One Beacon also acts as the sole supplier of utilities, ( water, oil ), in Fodmodmadtol. Rumored to be in bed with Traveler.

Traveler

Transportation Vehicle Manufacturer, ranging from 1] Trains to 2] Planes and to 3] Automobiles. Notorious for production of Vehicles which malfunction within twenty four hours of the warranty expiration date, exacting quantity over quality. Profit yield is exceptionally high due to trendy designs aimed towards the NASCAR demographic. Have increased profit as of late by experimenting with public services.

Kudos

Power Company which conducts business under three fronts; Jericho, Anameth, and Methyl. While Jericho supplies power harnessed by wind generators, Anameth supplies power harnessed by fossil fuels. Methyl is supported by the power of nuclear fission. Ironically if you support Jericho, you support Anameth as well. Kudos uses this marketing strategy to capture the demographic of the "environmentally-concerned," while still satisfying those who couldn't care less.

Nys

The Media, period. Nys publishes books under an assortment of different houses, fiction and non-fiction, with a wide range of subject matter. They also produce an intense genre of film, hosting exactly sixty channels, controlling television exclusively. Other Corporations must pass through Nys before going on air. The firm also plays host to a number of Private Schools; it's said the curriculum would have riddled the minds of Sophocles and Plato.

Helium

Large Arms Industry. Helium has, and will always, play the entire role in any Fodmodmadtol military movement. Once a State Industry, Helium holds much clout with the International Corporate Community as well as with the International Administrative Community. Helium conducts business on the principle of wholesale, as factory, to only a large consumer. (Created the Administration-Corporate Fod).

Lynbrook

Lynbrook produces a wide variety of familiar goods. The Corporation itself is divided into five different storefronts. Each is dubbed, ordinarily, Lyn-Sleep, Lyn-Wash, Lyn-Cook, Lyn-Dine, and Lyn-Live. Recently, Lynbrook has expanded into office goods. Lynbrook is a name on the tongue of every family when it comes to furnishing their life.

Saint Syndicate

Security business which installs patented Safe-Systems throughout a clients contracted area. Lestat, MFS, and the infamous L-NET were produced by Saint Syndicate. Computer software, as well as hardware of outstanding quality has been created by this single Corporation. Recently they've also expanded into the area of banking, sweeping away competition in the market.

Canon Vestal

Telecommunications Firm providing slow, unreliable service for high, unreasonable prices. Cellular coverage though reaches into every isolated nook of everywhere, providing efficient service. Internet Providers based in the firm remain dominant due to the fact they come standard with any Canon Vestal PC- Prices extraordinarily cheap. Canon Vestal became famous for operating the first massive space operation in Fodmodmadtol, known as Elitist Orbit.

Amika & Company

Clothing producer and retailer, responsible for trends circulating in the teen community ranging from Everheart Bracelets to Gauge-Palm. Pop culture and gossip are inherently controlled by Amika & Company, Media Outlets including Meta Urb Television [ MUT ] and NonLocal Magazine. Amika & Company have developed a marketing technique known as One Stop. They have never replicated a storefront, each one unique.

Hewlett Packard

Spawn of 11:10 PM merger. This chain of übermarkets vend any and every food product, but only food. They've been known for spiking prices of goods to unreasonable heights, shouting always of Supply and Demand. HP controls every iota of the Agriculture Industry, using the Syndicated Families as its muscle in demolishing Mom and Pop Stores. HP also has a chain of popular (see:only) fast food venues, gained from the 11:10 PM merger.

Military

The Fod Streitkräfte is divided into four Sections:

• Armée de Terre (Army)
• Armée de l'eau (Navy)
• Armée de l'air (Air Force)
• Gendarmerie (Special Interest)

Elitist Orbit falls under the authority of the Armée de l'air. Armée de Terre and Armée de l'eau have reached a technology level where an Armée de l'air is unecessary. Gendarmerie serves as a crisis guardian.

Education

All educational programs in Fod are regulated by the Ministry of Truth. Instructors are employed by Adminsitration and are consequently civil servants. The curriculum is the same for all Fod students in any given Cours. However, there exist specialized sections and a variety of options that students can choose. The reference for all Fodist educators is the National Truth Archive which catalogs all teaching directives. The school calender has two breaks, the month of Isis and the month of Maht, otherwise, the calender is completely uninterupted. Most students have finished their year by Bastille Day. The school calendar is standardized throughout Fod Proper.

Cours Premierment

Cours Premierment gives children study skill, while providing lessons in social decorum. This Cours involves children and their parents, stressing the responsibility of everyone in the learning process. Curriculum includes the colors, the alphabet and the numbers. This Cours also takes learning outside the Academy.

Cours Deuxième

Academy Cours Deuxième is mandatory for children six to twelve years of age. Cours Deuxième is sectioned into two levels, Elémentaire and Préparatoire. The former is an important step in the educational process, as it is when children are introduced to reading and writing. Much akin to other educational systems, Elémentaire usually has a single teacher who instructs in many different disciplines, such as mathematics, science and history. The latter elaborates on the childrens' rudementary knowledge, delving in an assortment of different mathematical theories, scientific methods and social studies. At this level children are given a choice of which study they would like to pursue. An intensive culture program is also introduced at this level, which makes available a slew of artistic and creative studies.

Cours Troisième

It is required that students attend Academy Cours Troisième. It continues with the knowledge base from Préparatoire into Classique. Into Cours Semester, however, the curiculum changes dramatcially. A student has mostly free roam, able to pick and choose which studies to follow. It's required that students choose studies pertinent to success.
