H1X9
The H1X9 is a genetic breed of Homo sapiens created by the Asgarnian Collective Armed Forces Scientific Research Division and Manticorp. It was created in 2006 at the Area 1 Secure Military Installation.
Purpose
The H1X9 was created to replace normal soldiers on the battlefield. Their genetic modifications were to make them nearly indestructable. However the program backfired.
Genetic Modifications Made
The H1X9 species had DNA and RNA from the Panthera tigris inserted into certain places to create a more efficient killing base. Other traits added were:
- Chromataphores (used to make the subject glow at will)
- Gills (used to allow subject to breath underwater)
There were other genes that were simply modified to make already existing traits more prominent.
- Endurance
- Eyesight
- Hearing
- Skin strength
- Muscle strength
- Running speed
The average H1X9 could run at 29 miles per hour for 3 minutes with 34 mile per hour bursts intersparsed.
Problems
The H1X9 program was terminated due to the unstability of the subjects. Some subject's hearts would suddenly stop for no reason and simply die. For 2 of the H1X9's, all of their internal organs simultainously ceased functioning. They died within minutes. Other problems encountered were:
- Inability to copulate
- Decreased sexual drive
- Random organ failure
- Sense deparvation
- Inability to ingest food and drink properly
- Behavioral issues (random outbursts of hostile emotion)
- Improper functioning of limbs
- Intolerance to sunlight
End Results
All H1X9 subjects were terminated as of Feburary 2006. There are no plans to re-open the project.
