The Transitional Government of MBCRCN (short for Main Board of Controlled Republics of the Casidy Nation) is the name of the regions of land long ruled by the Empire of MBCRCN which was ruled by the royal Schiff family. The nation first started out as an alliance between five states (refferred to as regions) ruled by Casidy Schiff. The nation continued to grow until it eventually grew to super power status. During the height of it's imperial age, seven northern regions broke away which would lead to a long and ongoing bloody civil war that would last for over two hundred years.
All during this time, the country was ruled by the Schiff family who legislated openly racist laws, mostly targetted toward the black populace. However, MBCRCN was quite a diverse nation, with 33% of its citizens being white, 29% hispanic, 24% black, and 6% being Jewish with the rest of the population (8%) being either other or a mix. It's interesting to note though that the Schiff family which passed the racist legislature was Jewish.
Roughly sixty years ago, the financial structure along with the sheer size of the nation and the growing discontent with the government that black citizens had helped bring about the end of the government of MBCRCN. When the Schiff backed government collapsed after decades of different wars, terrorist actions, and a civil war, the nation was thrust into anarchy. Several months after the formal disillusion of the Schiff government, Sirhan Powrtoch, a relative nobody, was able to rise to power and assume control of MBCRCN. During his short decade long reign, MBCRCN had the worst civil rights abuses in its history. It is estimated that anywhere between 200 to 225 million people were killed by the government. Recently though, Sirhan Powrtoch was assassinated and the current transitional government was established. An election was held and Jimson O'Brien was elected as the president.
Geography
MBCRCN is a very large and geographically diverse nation. The southern part is a tropical environment with several rain forests and is composed mostly of large peninsulas and thousands of large and small islands. Elvispitidone, the national capital, is located on the largest peninsula called Persuvia. The central part of MBCRCN is home to most of the nation's agricultural industry and has warm summers and cold winters. Going farther north, the land becomes desolate and inhospitable plainlands. Above that, the Runested Mountains appear and the environment becomes even more inhospitable with year round snowfall and the coldest temperatures in the whole nation. Continuing north and past the Runested Mountains are cold, usually snow covered plains. This northernmost area of MBCRCN has several large cities, the most notable being Plain City which served as the capital of the rebellious northern regions and is the sixth most populated city in MBCRCN with 12,000,000 inhabitants.
Language
During Powrtoch's reign, French was made the official language of the government. That marked the first time that MBCRCN ever had an official language. Spanish was the most widely spoken language before Powrtoch's reign. Now though, it has been surpassed by French (40%), with Spanish being a close second (38%), and Hebrew being third at 10%. Arabic has also had strong growth, yet is the fourth most widely spoken language at 7%. Portuguese (4%) is also spoken in MBCRCN; however, only in certain old ethnic communities. Other languages such as English, German, Chinese, and Italian are virtually unfound in MBCRCN and account for less than 1% of native speakers.
Second languages
Typical second languages usually vary depending where in MBCRCN you are. In the northernmost areas of MBCRCN, where Hebrew is most prominent, the most common second language is Arabic. French can also be found taught as a second language sometimes. Generally speaking though, most of northern MBCRCN refrains from learning second languages.
In the Arabic speaking areas along the western coast of MBCRCN, Hebrew was once a common second language. Now though, Portuguese has become the most commonly taught second language, mostly because of the nearby Portuguese speaking cities along the southwestern coast. In Portuguese speaking areas, Spanish is by far the most common second language.
In the mostly French speaking midlands, children are taught Esperanto alongside French as early as first grade. Most of the French speaking midland regions have passed legislation requiring children to learn Esperanto alongside French in hopes that other non-French speaking regions will follow in their footsteps and unite MBCRCN under one common language. This idea, known in MBCRCN as united bilingualism has been pioneered by French speaking and former regional governor, Adrian Jon Jewett and has several supporters in the Spanish and Arabic speaking areas of MBCRCN.
Excluding Elvispitidone and several islands in the French-MBCRCN and Portuguese-MBCRCN island chains, the most commonly taught second language in the Spanish speaking southern coastal areas is Portuguese. Most of the Spanish speaking citizens in the area strongly resent the French language, seeing it as a rival to their native tongue.
MBCRCN's capital and largest city, Elvispitidone, is the most multilingual area in the whole country. French and Spanish are the most commonly spoken languages there, though there are also several Portuguese, Hebrew, Arabic, and even Chinese speaking sections in the city. Because Elvispitidone is the most culturally and linguistically diverse city in the whole country, the teaching of second languages varies drastically. Since Elvispitidone is surronded by Spanish speaking lands, Spanish is the most commonly taught second language in Portuguese, Arabic, and Chinse areas of the city. By law, native Spanish and Hebrew speakers in Elvispitidone must take atleast two years of French while in school. Native French speakers in the city usually learn Portuguese though Spanish and Esperanto have become increasingly popular choices.
Religion
Religion is also very diverse in MBCRCN. The main religion pre-Powrtoch was Christianity at 33%. Today, most of the populace are non-religious (39%), followed by Christianity (20%), with Discordianism in third at 16%. Judaism is fourth at 11% (most followers are converts that are not ethnically or racially defined as Jews). Rastafarianism is also prevalent with the black population at 9%. Other relgions make up the remainding 5%.
Other
MBCRCN was founded on June 1, 2003. MBCRCN later went on to start the region of Sultane Gol which was moderately successful. At it's hieght, Sultane Gol had well over 100 members. Unending tensions between the region's coservatives (led by MBCRCN) and the liberals (led by Ugarit) created regional parties. Generally, the liberals had control of the UN delegacy while the conservatives had larger nation strength in the region. However, many of the conservative nations refused to join the liberal UN, which paved the way for the liberals to sieze delegacy. Despite Sultane Gol's strength, the tensions between the liberals and conservatives proved to be too much and the region later fell into disarray after MBCRCN discovered that the conservative's, and MBCRCN's own right-hand man for several months, had been a liberal spy.
Following Sultane Gol's disillusion, MBCRCN's activity became more and more sporadic. Since then, MBCRCN has been deleted several times due to inactivity.
