Matthew Gregory was born on August 13th, 2005 in the Austro-Hungarian Capital of Vienna.

As a boy, Gregory showed an immense potential for advancement and leadership. In school, he was constantly ranked best in his class and skipped 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades entirely. In college, he became Captain of the Vienna University Blernsball Team, and became known nationwide for leading them to 3 regional championships. He graduated college at age 18 and became a respected lawyer within the city.

But at the time, the Austro-Hungarian Empire was going through a troubled time. Economic collapse constantly hovered over the nation, as workers across the country began massive protests against the ruling Monarch, Emperor Mktaisan. In the year 2048, the government dissolved Gregory's law firm in Vienna, on the grounds of aiding with certain "leftist rebels". This action angered the young Gregory, who quickly became a staunch anti-royalist.

Secretly, the lawyer funded a group of leftist guerrilla fighters, led by a former peasant teacher named "Nasty Pasty". During his numerous undercover trips to Vienna, Gregory got to know Pasty, and the two formed a strong bond, and both shared the dream of a nationwide Communist revolution to overthrow the Mktaisan.

From his home in downtown Vienna, Gregory organized many military assaults on Austrian garrisons near Vienna, and in late 2050, he helped solidify Pasty's victory in the Battle of Vienna, which overthrew the monarchy and established the People's Socialist Republic of Pastocia.

In the aftermath of the victorious revolution, newly-elected First Consul Nasty Pasty gave Gregory a seat on his cabinet and the powerful position of "Proconsul", second to only the Consul himself in authority. In the elections that followed the victory, Gregory was also elected to the Senate, being the head regional delegate of the Vienna Bundeslaender (State).

In his policies, Senator Gregory became widely known as a hardliner, an outspoken nationalist. Gregory supported the creation and maintaining of a nation-wide military draft, to help strengthen Pastocia's newly created Armed Forces. He also heavily lobbied Pastocia's entry into the COMECON alliance, and is credited for beginning Pastocian-Nurdbotian relations.

In the economic sector, Gregory was known for his strict support of the pure, communist system. We heavily supported the instatement of the heavy nationalization tariffs and taxes of all domestic and foreign businesses.

In the year 2052, First Consul Nasty Pasty was kidnapped by Sunsetian terrorists, and Matthew Gregory was elected as temporary Consul. Many supported his appointment to the position, but after threatening the Empire of The Sunset Forces with a full invasion, he was quickly removed from his position. After his safe return to Pastocia, Consul Pasty abdicated his position as First Consul, and emergency elections were to be held. The two main candidates of the election were the two Pro-Consuls: Gregory and his political rival, Pastus Wilhelm. The election was close, with Gregory picked to be the winner, but in the end, Wilhelm won by a slim margin to be elected as Second Consul.

In early 2053, Senator Gregory was one of the major supporters of Pastocia's entry into the Dominion Wars, after their closest allies, Nurdbotia and Yugopatomia had already declared war against Anubinia and The Holy Dominion. Gregory himself oversaw the drafting of over 3 million young individuals, and the transformation of the Pastocian economy into wartime mode. In the middle of war, Pastocia was invaded on two fronts by Terre Argente and the Obsidian Order, who both came to the outskirts of the Capital of Pastantinople. Amazingly, when the other Senators and Consul Wilhelm were evacuated to Pastocia's province in the Eastern Outlying Territories, Gregory refused to go, and directed the defense of the Capital with Comandante Ackersky. After the seige was broken, Gregory gained massive public support for his bravery while all the others had fled.

In the months following the Dominion Wars, Senator Gregory spearheaded the creation of Pastocia's new and advanced post-war Navy, and the modernization of it's Airforce and Army.

During the summer of 2054, Pastocia and it's neighbor the Obsidian Order almost came to blows when Second Consul Pastus Wilhelm's order not to negotiate with the Cardassians after they refused to pay reparations for their invasion of Pastocia. Taking advantage of the Consul's dropping popularity, Senator Gregory was the first to make a call of "No-Confidence" in Consul Wilhelm, and after the Consul was removed from office, they appointed Gregory himself as head of the Senate.

For the next 6 years, Pastocia remained a place of stable peace while Consul Gregory was elected in 2 landslide elections. It is regarded that during this time, Pastocia truely made the leap to a world-power, as it's economy reached untold heights, great advancements were made in military technology, and, during the Nurdbotian Civil War, Pastocia became the sole administrator of the COMECON and led the alliance through the roughest part of it's history during the troubled mid-50's.

But by 2059, Gregory felt that his long time in office must come to an end, and announced that although he was almost guaranteed another victory in the popular election, that he would not run for a fourth term. And it was in that year that long-time political rival, the moderate-leaning Proconsul Katherine Minos became the nation's first female Consul, and ushered in the age of a centrist Pastocia, breaking ties with the COMECON and forming a new alliance, The Delian League.

By 2060, becoming disillusioned with the direction Minos was taking the country, the now-retired Gregory decided to leave Pastocia and move to Nurdograd with his wife, where he wants to take part in the post-civil war reconstruction efforts...
