Katherine Minos is a politician in the Socialist Republic of Pastocia.
She was born in 2009 in the nation of Nerdor to a middle-class family. The youngest of 3 siblings, all boys, Katherine strove throughout her young life to be better than her older male-counterparts. Very competitive, she enrolled in Mayatian Marshal Arts, a form of self defense and obtained a black belt for her skill.
Upon graduating high school in Aquaria, Minos was the first in her class, with perfect marks in all subjects. She received a scholarship to the University of Maryavostok in Zedoljev to study political science. It was during university starting at age 20 where Minos first began her fascination with the social philosophy of communism, of which, Zedoljev and her home nation of Nerdor were supporters of. She entered the Youth Party Wing at her university and by her third year at the school, she was party chairman. During this time, she was invited once to speak at a rally in Zendivostok, precided over by the Premier at the time, Dmitri Khillianov. Afterwards, she got the opportunity to speak with the famous leader, who became very impressed with her eloquent speech and knowledge of politics. The two became very close during this time, and some have even spoken of a possible affair between the aging Khillianov and young Minos.
After completing 6 years of education at the University of Maryavostok, Minos was assigned by Premier Khillianov to be his personal secretary at the Politburo in 2035. There she worked for nine years, a dedicated worker, until 2044 when Premier Khillianov was killed at the MuDeAl Summit by a terrorist attack. Disheartened by the loss of her close friend and mentor who she regarded as a second father, Minos declined a position in the Zedoljan Government under the new adminstration of Premier Aleksei Zvyevonyev, and moved back to her home nation of Nerdor and lived a quiet life of moderate seclusion.
This was until the year 2050, when, suffering a brutal economic depression, the Nerdorian Republic was annexed by the newly-formed Plutocracy of MDKCorp, a nation of corporations and staunch supporter of capitalism. Minos took up the banner of protest against the annexation, leading a movement for the restoration of a communist government. Amazingly, this came true when, a year later, the Socialist Republic of Pastocia negotiated a turnover of control of the island from MDKCorp, and it soon became the budding nation's first overseas province.
Very soon, Pastocia, which had just been forged in a hard-fought communist revolution against the Austrian monarchy, began to hold elections for seats in the newly created Imperial Senate. With her love of politics reguvenated with the exit of MDKCorp, Minos won the Aquarian District Seat in the Senate un-opposed. After winning the seat, uplifted from her home and moved to the new Pastocian Capital, Pastantinople. Soon after moving to mainland Pastocia, she fell into a relationship with a resteraunt owner in the Capital, named Philip Charlez. The two fell in love and were married in the Old Archangel Cathedral in 2052.
At the same time as her marrage, Minos began to swiftly rise through the levels of influence in the Imperial Senate. In 2052 with the abdication of First Consul and founding revolutionary, Nasty Pasty and the ascention of his young cousin, Pastus Wilhelm to the title of Second Consul, Minos was elected by the Senate to hold the co-chair position of Proconsul, with a fellow Senator from Pastantinople named Matthew Gregory.
Throughout the Wilhelm administration, Minos began to gain a reputation as a much more moderate and center-leaning socialist when compared to her far-left counterpart, Senator Gregory. She became a leading figure in a growing moderate movement within the nation which favored peaceful coexistance with the capitalist nations of PEEL, a trait which she picked up from her well-known mentor from the Zedoljan Politburo, the late Premier Khillianov, who followed a similar course of action during his term in office.
When Senator Gregory became the Third Consul of Imperial Senate in late 2053, Minos underwent a long period of popularity building across the country, namely in the home province of Nerdor. While Consul Gregory supported Pastocia's membership and leadership in the hated COMECON Alliance, Minos began to rally support against it, citing it's denial of human and political rights in certain members states. And by 2059, with The Great Communist Schism, the fracturing of the COMECON, and Gregory's announcement that he will not seek a 4th term in office, Minos saw her chance and easily won the nationwide Consulate Election of 2059 and became Pastocia's Fourth Consul, and the first female to hold the position.
Among the first policies underwent by her administration was the immediate departure of Pastocia from the COMECON and the establishment of The Delian League, a new alliance of Democractic Socialist States who promoted freedom and reform in PEEL's communist nations, as well as a counterweight to the radical CommIntern, headed by Yugopatomia and it's outspoken Premier, Whoopwhoopwhoop, which promises to sponser and spark violent popular revolutions in the nations of PEEL to bring about Communist Governments....
