The Federal Republic of New Felix is an influential and active nation in the region of Wysteria, best known for being the first nation to set foot on the moon (in a WSA operation), involvement in the Munishan War , and leading organizations such as the Wysterian Union (WU) and the Independent Wysterian League of Equal Nations (IWLEN).

Government

The Federal Republic of New Felix is a multi-party democracy, with an executive, legislative, and judicial branch. The right to vote is perhaps the greatest value of Felixans, and voter turnout is among the highest in the region. General Elections (Presidential, Senate, Supreme Court) are held every two years.

Executive Branch

The Executive Branch is led by The President and his cabinet. The President is responsible for the well-being of New Felix, and is in charge of managing economic affairs, foreign policy, and is the Commander-in-Chief of the Military.

The Legislative Branch

The Legislative Branch Consists of the Parliament, which is subdivided into the Congress and the Senate. There are 860 Congressman and 86 senators; twenty congressman and two senators per city-state.

A law can be introduced anywhere, but must eventually be passed by both sections, before being ratified by the President. The President can choose to veto a law, which then must be supported by 60% of congress to overrule that veto.

The Judicial Branch

The Judicial Branch is comprised of nine Supreme Court Justices, who are directly elected by the people. Supreme Court Justices serve a term of six years (three justices are up for election every two years). Only the most important cases are taken by the Supreme Court.

Local Government

New Felix is divided into 43 states, each named after its largest city. Each state has an elected governor, legislature, a supreme court, and a state constitution that allows them to further regulate matters. Individual cities and townships have mayors and councils as well.

Foreign Relations/Military

Although New Felix Foreign Policy is up to the President, for the last five decades New Felix has maintained an aggressive, multi-lateral foreign policy. It has held the 1st and 3rd Chancellorship of the Wysterian Union, during which it strongly supported aid to North Nephia and anti-Zakommian measures. New Felix is also a major proponent of international anti-terrorist and anti-drug initiatives.

The New Felix Military Consists of five branches; the Army, the Air Force, the Navy, the Marines, and the Coast Guard. Additionally, National Guard reserves of the Army and Air Force exist, whose primary objective is to defend New Felix soil from attack. Recently, National Guard troops have been called in to help police and federal authorities in New Felix's War on Drugs. New Felix's military uses the latest military technology, although its size is much smaller than most other Wysterian Economic Superpowers.

Largest Cities

New Felix is one of the most urban nations in Wysteria; it has a total of 43 major cities with over ten million people within its limits, and millions more in the surrounding suburbs. Almost all of the cities are located in Northern Continental New Felix. New Felix Cities are designed in an ultra-modern style, with numerous glass skyscrapers, many parks, and well-funded public transportation systems.
