November Fifth Uprising

The November Fifth Uprising, sometimes referred to as the November Uprising or November Revolution was an attack on the M'Chaia Party politics of Morindira by the Silver Movement.

Events of November Fifth

On November 5th, several violent acts occured in Morindira. They were carried out in the name of the Silver Movement led by Morindiran revolutionary and native Malialander Saden Daeth.

The first event happened 50 miles outside Valinskya. Madame Director Rienne Y'ssain was heading to her car from giving a speech when a member of the Silver Movement, Fanya Kiplin, approached her. She shot three times. The Madame Director fell unconsious and was rushed to her apartment in Valinskya where she refused to go to a hospital. She recovered a few weeks later, but will carry two of the bullets forever.

Hours after the attack on the Madame Director, a M'Chaia Party building in southern Morindira was invaded by members of the Silver Movement. They held all 76 loyal Party members who were trapped inside as hostages as they made demands of the M'Chaia government, the Madame Director, and even the Praetor herself. Their demands included:

• A private audience with Praetor Natolya M'Kai
• A supply of medical supplies and rations to be delivered to a classified location
• The release of several Silver Movement detainees who had been arrested prior to the attack
• The immediate end to the Maliaish occupation
• An public, international statement on behalf of the M'Chaia party admitting to "several counts of human and civil rights violations."

The rebels stated that one hostage every hour would be killed until their demands began to be met.

The Praetor responded that "Morindira is not in the practice of negotiating with terrorists. If fact, we refuse to tolerate them at all."

Three hours after the terrorits had made their demands, the M'Chaia Party building was leveled to the ground, killing the Silver Movement members and all 76 hostages. Praetor M'Kai's staff released a statement mourning the loss of the dead and stating that, due to their desperate situation, the rebels had chosen to destroy the building. Many analysts, however, believe that the Praetor ordered the destruction of the building herself.

The Scarlet Terror

Following the attacks upon the Madame Director and government property in southern Morindira and elsewhere, Praetor M'Kai initiated a series of severe and uncompromising decisions to deal with the rebellion. First, she created the Morindiran Security Commission, headed by Favian Vega. Second, she created a secret security enforcement agency called the Zsona, to be headed directly by Madame Director Y'ssain. To this secret bureau she endowed vast amounts of power. Since the creation of the Zsona, it is estimated that over 12,000 accused revolutionaries have been tortured and/or executed without trial.
