Sherylannia is a massive, devout nation, renowned for its stunning landscape. The Environment Act 2007 had a major influence on the fantastic horizons now seen throughout the country.

History

The Formation of Cobland

Sherylannia was originally completely populated by nothing but Rogue Tomatoes. This changed in 1650, when a foreign man, by the name of Robert Coble founded the country. His origins are unknown, but it is known that he was a drunk, murdering wife-beater, who was sentenced to death many times in other countries. However, when he created what was then called Cobland and proclaimed himself leader, he gained immunity, and was reluctantly pardoned for his crimes.

Cobland's Rise and Fall

Cobland was a country of murderers and bandits for 30 long years, keeping the innocent citizens in check with death threats and robberies. They robbed anybody who'd dare to pass through, and gave Robert Coble the spoils. In 1680, there was a revolution. The good natured citizens rose up and the newly appointed Sheriff, James Wilkinson shot Coble dead. With their leaders dead, the bandits fled the country, and the people proclaimed Wilkinson their new King. His first act was to rename the country after his wife. Sherylannia was born.

Sherylannia's Golden Age

The country blossomed under the rule of Wilkinson, becoming a powerhouse economically, and a much better place to live. However, in 1724, the bandits began to move back into the country, wanting to take back what they had lost. Led by Coble's son, Martin Coble, the bandits launched a siege on Wilkinson's castle. They were beaten back, but not without fatally wounding Wilkinson. His son, Geoff Wilkinson replaced him, having no real adverse or positive effect on Sherylannia, except for the introduction of legalised gambling.

Ofred-Jillner War (1958-1997)

Between the death of Geoff Wilkinson in 1780, and the beginning of the war in 1958, historians can't figure anything out.

The Ofred-Jillner war was more a mass culling than a battle. Ofred had no chance from the beginning, and many veterans are impressed that they managed to hold out as long as they did. Jillner were a much powerful force, and in the end, Ofred surrended, and were allowed to become a province of Sherylannia.

The New System

The war lost the original monarchy, what with the last of the bloodline dying. The people did not want a new bloodline, so instead, the country turned to a different type of leader. In 2002, The Cool Guy of Sherylannia title was created, and this brings the history of Sherylannia to a close for now.

Geography

Sherylannia is situated west-central of The Spectrum, with its bordering neighbours being White-Rose, Oldham Road and Domas-Porada. Coincidentally, these people are all members of The Good Guys alliance. It is also neighboured with the now barren Ediroth, and Enthalpy Change across the Synaptic Gulf. Sherylannia shares a mountain range with Domas-Porada and White-Rose to its south. It is a vast desert land, with cities scattered around the country.

Politics

Before the death of David Oneill, Sherylannia took a backseat in political affairs, only rearing its head when an important matter came along. With the appointment of Robert Willis, and his vice cool guy Oscar Schwa, Sherylannia looked to be taking a more active stance in political proceedings.

With the temporary appointment of Samuel L. Jackson, Sherylannia's political forecast is that "no sh*t will be taken", and Jackson will make sure that Sherylannia becomes a force in the Spectrum.

Religion

Most Sherylannians practice the religion of Defylism or Zedem. Thousands of Sherylannian's make the pilgrimage to White-Rose every year, to visit each of The Seven Pantheons. A smaller percent of the population follow Vagism, created by Sean E. Moss, lead singer of the popular rock band, Vagina of the Bishop.

Culture

Sherylannia Entertainment Network provide most of the televisual entertainment in the region. They have the strongest line-ups, what with Monday nights being "Double Drama" nights. It begins with Protagonists at 9PM, and Knights of Justice at 10PM. Recently, a new hit show, Who Wants to Rule Sherylannia?, has become very very popular.

The televisual pleasures are the more accepted in Sherylannia, but there are a select few who enjoy the arts, which are plentiful in the country. Around almost every corner is an example of "art". This includes examples, such as graffiti.

Sport

Sherylannia's main sport is football. It has it's own league (the Sherylannian Premier League), and arguably one of the best teams in the Spectrum, the Ling Wong Pandas.

Sherylannia's national team is usually invited to the Spectrum Cup, but suffered from poor performance in 2006, and went out in the group stage. The manager has vowed to do better this time. The country also put in a bid to host, but it was decided that Dhatsun would have the honour, as he was the victor in the last one.
