The T-11 is the standard MBT of the Krob Party and National Vanguard. It is manufactured by the Sukhov Design Bureau and Dvormetel' Armaments in Kroblexskij. The Type-T hull also provides the basis for many engineering and logistics vehicles. Such as the T-51 Armoured Tractor, the E-7 Bridge Layer and the AVEV Engineering Tractor.

The T-11 is a continuation of design from the T-10 MBT. It is due to phase out all the T-10s from front line service by 2007.

Overview

Armament

The armament of the T-11 is designed to combat a variety of enemies on the modern battlefield. It allows the T-11 to fully intergrate with the rest of Krob military forces.

Primary

130mm Cannon

The Primary armament is the Dvormetel' 130mm SA2MB Smoothbore Cannon. This is a revolutionary design feature for Krob armour, as all previous designs have used rifled guns. The increase in standard calibre from 127mm to 130mm allows greater penetrating power, but there is a disadvantage in the weight of the ammunition. With increased weight, the tank has reduced cross country manouverability and ammunition stowage is decreased. The T-11 also introduces the auto-loader to Krob armour. Previously, there had been a crew of four, one of the crew being the loader. With the introduction of the autoloader, the crew is reduced and rate of fire increased.

The Cannon is supplied by autoloader from a turret ring magazine. The gunner, located in the forward hull, can select different rounds to be loaded into the gun via the electronic autoloader control. Up to 4 different types of rounds can be carried in the tank at any one time. These may include APFS, HEAT, HESH, or ATGM. One intresting note is that the empty shell cases are automatically ejected from the turret. Through a port in the rear of the turret. This frees up space in the cramped interior, but it slows down reloading time.

82mm Mortar

The 82mm mortar seems to be an unusual weapon for an MBT, but it was included in the design to provide fire support to any mechanised troops that could be working in coordination with armoured units. Battle testing showed that the mortar was invaluable in urban environments and for attacking entrenched enemies. The mortar has a much higher elevation than the main gun and so can fire over high obstacles to reach previously hidden enemies.

Secondary

12.7mm HMG

The 12.7mm HMG is standard for all armoured units in the Krob Military. It can be used to eliminate soft skinned targets or slow moving aircraft. It is mounted on the commanders coupla and can be operated by the commander from inside the vehicle. Some older second line units still use the 1954 liquid cooled Machien gun, whilst others are adopting the more modern air cooled version. The

7.62mm GPMG

The single 7.62mm GPMG is located on the turret bustle coaxial to the main gun. It is the standard GPMG of the Krob Military and provides an effective weapon against infantry. It is controlled by the gunner
