Politics of the Terran Inhabitants
The Communist Democracy of Terran Inhabitants proclaims itself a democracy. The United Nations have found that it is a real democracy and runs fair elections. TI is known for its many elections, as well as having a "None of the above" option on its ballets. Currently the government is ran by a majority government. The ruling party is The Communist Party of Terran Inhabitants, controlling most of the seats in TI's parliament. The official opposition is the Terran Pro-Market Party which retains very little seats. The only major party that does not retain any seats is the Theists of TI party which promotes a heavily religious ideology. The government is officially secular though some have accused it as being down right atheist (especially as its Prime Minister is an Atheist). TI uses the MMP system of Democracy having long since removed the "First past the post" system.
Economy of Terran Inhabitants
Terran Inhabitant's Prime Minister's role as a URF Minister
On February 3rd 2007 Terran Inhabitant's Prime Minister challenged the Leader of Insomnia Island for a race for the ministry of International courts, law and Justice with the justification of the lack of productivity in the Justice Ministry. An election was called and in the end Prime Minister Wilson was proclaimed Justice Minister. Noting some discussions about Criminals rights in the early discussions of his predecessor in the ministry, Mr. Wilson wrote a legislation called the URF Bill of Rights for Criminals which passed after some modifications. After this the active nations of the URF grew concerned that there was not a bill of its kind for those out of jail. Mr. Wilson promised to start working on it. However it was delayed for quite a few months. In the end he decided to moderate a project where other nations added their suggestions for rights and freedoms. The URF Charter of Rights and freedoms is scheduled to be put to vote on November 5th 2007, and the polls are expected to end on November 9th 2007.
