Princess Tomoyo Mikanu (ともよ まかり |Mkanu (the short I is dropped in the Kurma Mikanu Tomoyo) The Current ruling princess of Kurona the youngest Princess in the History of the country to take the throne at age 13.

Early Years

When Tomoyo was born, Prince Mako Mikanu was the ruling Prince. He proclaimed the birth of his daughter to be the greatest day of his life and proclaimed it a holiday. (Although it isn't a practiced Holiday today) While he tried to tend to her whenever he could his wife Himeko cared for Tomoyo more often. Tomoyo more than often loved to dress in her Kimono wheather or not their was a special ocassion, </div> which at the time was fairly uncommon (Kimonos came back into fasion later that year) and she loved to play with animals. She was raised to be a refined young Princess, given horseback riding lessons, good education and refined cultural learnings. Her father taught her plenty as well as her mother.

Acention to the Throne

Just as Tomoyo turned 12 her parents came down with the dreaded Mansons Syndrome a then fatal illness. Tomoyo had strong hopes they would hold through but sadly both passed away. Tomoyo was deveastated and for a short while kept to her self. After having some time to gather her thoughts she was finally abel to take the throne and positinon as ruler. Some of her first priorities were to contiune her father's work, indluding that dreaded word ending isolation. Tomoyo was still a slight beliver and supporter of isolation, seeing as the state of the interior was far better off than a busy-body nation. However with fragile relations with Kanami still developing, and Kurona being classified as a Third World Country, she figured she had to do something

The League of Small Regions

One of Tomoyo's first operationg of business was to seek out international alliances. Xanadou was still a very small region having only two nations, untill the Latsuberg and Senovia joined. When Tomoyo found out about the League she requested to join and Xanadou was offically accpeted. However it's influence was pretty limited and the time it took to travel to the league HQ proved too difficult for Tomoyo and her advisors.

Stormy Weather Crisis

Tomoyo was already going strong into her time as Princess. She was well liked by a lot of the citizens even far out west, and she began to gain the confidence she needed to be a ruler. However when the October Storm Hit and the weather began to take a turn for the worse, Tomoyo felt swamped and overwhelmed. She declared a State of an Emergency which only made things worse. Now Emegency Claims for insurance and social security were being filed to her, the paperwork only contiuned to mount on her and the weather seemed to only get worse and worse and worse. Tomoyo eventually grew so frightend she had to call for help from the global community. However when no time passed Tomoyo began to feel abandoned.

"I never thought the world could be so apathetic. Igonoring the pleading cries of a nation in it's desperate hour. Kurona is suffering, and I can do nothing. Everything I had been taught is failing. Was the God that many belived in so angry? I'm not a Christian of any kind but shintaoism won't save me. Should I start praying to a God I don't belive in? I only hope that maybe someone has finally deciding to come to our aid. Perhaps, but if not let this diary of mine be forever a shameful template, of what happend to the nation of Kurona."

And after that she reportedly put her head down and sobbed.

"I can not recall a time that I was as frightend as this time. Having over a million lives hanging by a thread of my commands, I was worried my country would sink into the sea forever."

Tomoyo of course was relived to find at least three nations were well on their way. She was rescued by the Czdarian Military and put on a safe sturdy ship outside the country. When the storm cleared at last Tomoyo worked with Kanami, Stevid, Czardas, and Aqua Anu to releve the Kurona Financial Debt of insurance and social security, and she was given several reports as to why the storm of the magnitued struck the nation. Tomoyo felt so greateful for their help she gave all the nations highest officals (including the Prime Ministers) The highest achivement in Kurona, The Raven Cross However it also gave her bitter feelings towards the international community for so many ignoring her. She was so distraught she refused to join the United Nations, and dropped from the League of Small Regions.

Polecies

While being the head leader, Tomoyo is often caught up in the red tape of the Catholic Majority of the Cabinate. However most decisions lie with her and her alone, unless she is vetoed by a public vote

LGBT Issues

Tomoyo proves to be a leader that values a free society, however she also feels social stability is important. By most standards Tomoyo is a conservative, her only liberal belife is the fact she is pro-gay marriage. She feels that the normal family unit is strong enough to co-exist in Kurona, (though most don't think so) She also has seen posotive results with LGBT Couples. Adoption she is still a bit unsure of, because she isn't sure of the social consequencs and negative effects it can have. Thus far a LGBT couple can not adopt and Tomoyo has made no changes to the legislation. She fears that the sucide rate among teens of these social circumstances may increase, thus she's holding back on any legilsation that deals with this matter. Tomoyo has proposed many times to eradicate the 65th Line (see 65th Line Section in Kurona) which was actualy established by her father, however she has been overuled in these matters by majority of the Order and the known religious extremists that live in certain parts of the country. Tomoyo is opposed to Transsexualism as she feel it creates far more complexisity and confusion if it arises to a heavy point. She also feels it's almost a bit of a perversion and not something she desires.

Education

Tomoyo is also for free religion, and free education for all children. She's very much opposed to Private School Vouchers. Much of Kurona funds go into education she feels good education makes productive citizens of society. Even if they are taking over the family farm she feels they need a good education to support themselves when times fall tough. Thus Kurona schools offer a wide variety of subjects from Metorology to Agriculture. She does like the idea of uniforms but enforcing this has been impractical with Kurona still much of a wilderness state.

Controlled Substances

Tomoyo remains on the forefront against any controlled substance that isn't for remdial medical purposes and doesn't have a negative effect enviromentally of thoes around a person. All drugs, including Marijuana, tobbaco and alchol are banned. Morphine is allowed for private use but only if you have a medical condition that proves it.

Question of Modernization

Tomoyo isn't very anxious to modernize or make wealthy the nation.

International Polocies

Tomoyo has gradually seeked to expand Kurona influence and fellowship in the world. By allying her self with nations such as Kanami, she's gradually trying to end isolation. However she's not a big on being an interventionist (or a hawk) she's more belives in being more of a dove and assosiating with peaceful nations. It should be noted that Tomoyo is the most internationally involved Princess in Kurona History. While initially she began leaning more as pro-isolationist, her attitude radically changed after the Kuronan Storm Crisis. Since then she has opened more embasies, started more relations, traded more, and has done many other things since Kurona's founding.

Kanami

Tomoyo's parent's began relations with Kanami before she was born. Unfortunatley when they died, relations began to grow weaker and the lines of communication began to break down. When Tomoyo finally adjusted to leadership, she meet Kanami Prime Minister Steven Koolridge and reopend the lines of communicaiton. Since then Kanami has been a long trusted ally and freind, and this reassured Tomoyo after the Kurona Storm. However when the Presidency was being prepared to be passed on many in the parties in Kanami were wanting to terminate relations with Kurona. Tomoyo met with then Senator Elenore Romney and found Romeny still desired to keep relations with Kurona. She and Tomoyo have grown to be close freinds since.

Stevid

Following the Kuronan storm, Tomoyo felt strong kinship and safety with Stevid. The strong and mighty empire just to the south of them could be there in a moments notice if they were in distress. When Stevid offerd Kurona a place in the Empire, she couldn't resist. However the conflicts between Stevid and Kanami have had her in a state of stress. Tomoyo however sees Stevid as a loyal freind and ally and someone who could race to them if they needed help. Even Prime Minister Romeny agree's Kurona's and Stevid's freindship is a priceless tool.

Magic Sorcery

Kurona has no formal relations with it's neighbor. Tomoyo has sought relations before but usually has been out ruled on the issue, due to the fact they are magic.

HotDogs2/GDI

Tomoyo has become an outspoken critic on the nation of H2 and the Alliance of which it founded. Since the refusal to recognize AHSCA, as a state or aid in granting them independence and their questionable associations with nations that seemingly defy all logic to their alliance. With several News Comments and the lack of condeming and action against the invasion of the islands, has angerd her greatly. Although Stevid was one of thoes invaders she did condemn it regardless. Included are the wrongful executions of Shinto preists on the island of Truce.

Imprisionment

One would hardly expect Tomoyo to be a jail-bird, but it did happen, in a rather goofy way. As tention was contiuing to mount between Stevid and Kanami, Tomoyo felt she needed to talk to Prime Minister David Conroy of Stevid, and see if she could do anything to calm him down. Fearing however she would be brushed away by him or his staff, she decided to take matters into her own hands. Leaving Kurona by boat then boarding a plane in a nearby nation she flew into Stevid and enterd with an Incognito Passport that allows her to travel as a Private Citizen under the radar of media and others. Needing to sneak into the Capital building she bribed a food delivery boy and slipped in to Stevid Capita giving the guard a sob story that he could relate to, she eventually weaved down the halls.

It wasn't long however untill she was appreheanded by MI5 and held at their mercy. At the spur of the moment she weaved an insane story about being Conroy's half-sister. Obviously no one had bought it and she was put in a jail cell. It was a wonder she wasn't shot. She was soon transfered over to the local prision where she actually smiled for her Mugshot. </div>

Tomoyo was released in three days with no fuss.

• Domestic Violence Act: Domestic Violence that is around or involves children can be considered a from of Felony Child Abuse and punishble as a crime
• VETOED: Parental Purity Act: The act would have given sharp tax reductions to non LGBT Parents but would have also raised taxes for LGBT parents
• Hanna's Law: No child can be refused medical treatment for a life threatning alement based on the social status and or/belifes of the parents. (This is based on the case of Hanna Montgomery who died from a high fever but could have been saved if the doctor had not refused treatment)
• Kurona Metoroglogy Plan:' Invested in weather research for Kurona following the Kurona Storm
• VETOED: Kurona Nuclear Storage Initiave: A plan that would give Kurona $350 billion to store nuclear waste in Kurona
• Entrance into the League of Small Regions
• Withdrawl from the League of Small Regions
• Nuclear Prohibition Pact (Co-signe with Kanami,and Aqua Anu)
• Entrance into the Stevid Empire: United Kurona and Stevid as freinds follwing the storm
• Farmers Tax Break: In light of the actions by LifeWyze Biotech Kurona gave a tax relife to all farmers, even forgave any and all debt for the current year
