The World Youth Council is a group dedicated for youth of the world, in and out of government. It is also the foremost organization for rights of youth.

History

The WYC was started in 1945, following WWII. It started as a humanitarian comission for the displaced people of the world, and so it remaind so for a decade. Comming of 1955, a new leader took control and alterd the Charter of the group. Now the Council would not only serve the displaced orphaned youth of the world, but all the poor youth of the world. For another 20 years it served as a helping for the poor kids of the world, doing several humanitarian missions, setting up schools, funding orphanages, and taking children off of the battle fields. On December 24, 1963, the WYC started the "Christmass for Refugees Program." The program went to refugee camps around the world, and gave children presents, and food. It also gave out billions of dollars in donations.

In 1974 the charter was amended yet again, this time instead of just serving the poor and needy, it served all youth that truley neededed it. It also started the World Youth Council Awards,

Today it's the same only almost any youth who makes an impact, or is a very good example, can win one. There are many ways to win one.

Another decade would pass before the Charter was ammended yet again. This time a cluase to recognize youth plotical leaders was added. and now a youth leader can be nominated and win.

Today the WYC hosts an anual banquet for all people to attend. Along with the awards, they recgonize out standing youth in all walks of life, from all cultures.

Member States

While it isn't necisary to be a member state to get WYC recognition, they do like nations ran by young leaders to join, and nations with high youth poulation to join as well.

(although tecnically Animapolis isn't recognized as a nation state, it does hold membership)
