Bedistan Premier League, 2083 season

Though Mike Davidson claimed that he declined the position as assistant manager of the Sarzonian national team for World Cup 25 because he was ready for a bigger challenge, some of his critics said that the real reason was because he didn't feel like he could do an adequate job after the performance of his Bedistan Premier League club, Floral FC, in the 2083 season. After being league champions just three years previously, Floral could manage only a mid-table position in 2083, twenty-one points out of the lead. Floral's offense was also one of the weakest in the BPL, scoring only 46 goals in 38 matches; a superb defense that allowed only 43 was what enabled Floral to nevertheless finish eighth.

Instead, this season saw the rise of the other two members of the so-called "Big Three" - Rolestu and Alexandria. Luckily for those Alexandria-haters out there, the 'pines fell one point short of the title, and they have Yuba United to thank for that, as Yuba shut out Alexandria 2-0 on the final matchday, enabling Rolestu to slip past after a 1-1 draw with Dennis. Last year's champions South Coast would end up settling for third place, followed by San Diego and Bucks Lake to round out the top five.

Unsurprisingly, Charleston and Jackson found themselves tumbling back to the First Division immediately after being promoted, Jackson doing so in spectacular fashion with a 6-8-24 record, finishing fifteen points from safety after managing to score just 28 goals all season. Somewhat less expected was the fact that Carter FC would be joining them, having dropped from 13th place last season to 19th this time around. The other newly-promoted team, High Mountain, did significantly better than expected, walking away with a very respectable 12th-place finish, just a single win behind former champs Floral.
