In politics and in history, a colony is a territory under the immediate political control of a geographically-distant Nation. Many NationStates nations may have Colonies.
Colony is also a popular name prefix.
NationStates Colonies
Nation | Colonies |
---|---|
Ariddia | Dependencies of the PDSRA |
Kedalfax | Non-provincial Colonies Kedalfax
|
United Island Empires | Overseas Territories of the United Island Empires |
The Aristocratic Imperium of Myroria | Myrorian Colonies
|
Martentopis | Martentopis colonies |
Uhuh-Ropa and Uhuh-Topia | Ropa-Topia
Ropa-Topia currently belongs to both nations, but used to be an Uhuh-Topian colony on the Isle of Uhm. The Isle of Uhm is still a province of Uhuh-Topia, but Ropa-Topia is also a fully sovereign nation. |
Notes:
- Colonies may be termed in a variety of ways. Ariddia's "colonies" are officially described as a "special province" (Eshyosha, Gnatanamo), a "semi-autonomous overseas territory" (the Ariddian Arctic Islands) or even, in ESAT's case, as a fully sovereign nation.
