Highlights

Day One

  • Andrew Simari of Krytenia set an Olympic record in the first competition of the event, the first heat of the men's short track 1000 metre qualifying. Simari's time of 1:28.418 lasted until the end of the qualifying; a further 15 athletes qualified for the following day's semi final. [1]
  • The host nation Commerce Heights went down 3–4 to The Resurgent Dream in the opening match of the men's ice hockey tournament. [2]
  • The Anastasianian delegation was delayed due to a misunderstanding with the communications committee. [3]
  • Boudra-Boudra and Commerce Heights run away from the pack in the biathlon relay, finishing over three minutes ahead of the bronze medal team. Oswaldo Sdar of Boudra-Boudra beat Larry Kaplan in the finish sprint to win by four seconds [4], while Anastasiania took the bronze. [5]
  • Athletes from The Resurgent Dream clinched first and fifth place in the women's figure skating short program. [6]

Day Two

  • Paperwork problems caused more delayed competitions, as Chicanada's snowboard cross athletes had to race an extra qualification run [7]
  • Zertunia dominated the two alpine skiing events by securing four of the six available top-three places:
    • Kenbor Tan and Canban Sanom made it a 1-2 for Zertunia in the men's slalom, but there were nine athletes within half a second of the leader. However, another run had to be completed before the medals were awarded. [8]
    • In the Super-G, the first medal event for the alpine skiers, Sanom struck gold and finished 0.09 seconds ahead of silver medallist Béroto Théalin of Antrium. Kenbor Tan takes the bronze. [9]
  • The first round of women's curling qualification was completed: The team from Maineiacs, skipped by Sally Gore, recorded the largest margin of victory, beating Malabra by 9–5. [10]
