The Legal Federation of Legalese is a nation in Atlantian Oceania, renowned for its proliferation of citizens well-versed in the legal profession. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 2.042 billion enjoy extensive civil freedoms, particularly in social issues, while business tends to be more regulated.
The Federal Government devotes most of its attentions to Education, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and Commerce receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Uranium Mining industry.
The government is reigning in public spending, the latest Harry Potter book is a bestseller, televangelists flaunt their expensive cars when they attend charity events, and jails have become colloquially known as 'vampire houses'. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Legalese's national animal is the Restraining Order, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Legal Talent.

Federal Republic, consisting of shared powers between the Federal and Local Levels.
Federal Government The Federal Government of Legalese consists of a three branch system, consisting of the Legislative assemblies, the Executive Branch, and the Supreme Court and Federal Court System.
Legislative Assemblies The bicameral Legislature consists of two houses: the directly-elected House of Delegates, and the locally appointed House of Councilors. The elected heads of each house shall each be known as the Consul of their respective house, and have considerable power in shaping the agenda of the session, though shall leave the duties of presiding over the sessions to others. All legislation must pass through both houses before it can be enacted into law. The Councilors, in addition, shall also be responsible for the approval of nominations made by the Executive, while both houses must approve International Treaties to be signed.
Executive Branch The Executive Branch shall be headed by the Chancellor, who shall be elected to a four-year term, with no term limits. Election shall be by popular vote, with a majority of overall votes required, as well as at least a third of the votes in at least half of the localities. The first barrier can be achieved either on the first ballot, or by use of the instant runoff method, where all voters shall list their preference order for the candidates, while the second barrier must be based off of the first-choice selections on the ballot. After elected, the Chancellor shall be charged with appointing a cabinet and other executive officers, the power of veto on legislation, and the appointment of Supreme Court candidates.
Supreme Court and Federal Court System The top court in the Legal Federation shall be the Supreme Court. Its members shall be appointed by the sitting Chancellor, and then approved by the House of Councilors, and serve at least a 10 year term, with the option of either the Chancellor, or the Legislative Assemblies with a majority vote by both houses, at the end of the term to extend it for another 10 years. Decisions on the legal matters made by the Supreme Court shall be rendered as final, overturnable only by a future Supreme Court, unless an amendment changes the law that is the basis of the ruling.
Below the Supreme Court is a three-tiered Federal Court System, starting with the various Regional Courts, which shall be the point of origin for Federal court cases, as well as the first appellate level outside of the locality level. the Regional Courts then feed into the Federal District Courts, of which there are four, each covering a certain part of Legalese. Rulings made by this court shall be used as precedents in all lower courts in that area, unless superceded by a ruling from the higher courts. The third, and highest tier short of the Supreme Court, are the Federal Courts of Appeal, which number two, the Eastern and Western courts.

The most popular game in Legalese is Soccer. The Legalese Association Football Confederation was the national governing body until the collapse of the federal government. The local Legalite clubs have informally created the Legalese Association Football Federation (LAFF) to help co-ordinate local play, and acts as a de facto governing body.

Legalese competed in the Qualifiers for the World Cup from WC 18 to WC 22. After assisting in World Cup 22 with hosting duties, which saw the group Legalese was drawn into played in their homeland, the Black and Red made their only finals appearance, earned as the tri-host. LAFF has announced their intentions to return the Legalites to the world stage for WC 26, their first qualifying attempt since 22.
Legalese hosted AOCAF V, and participated in every Regional Competition until AOCAF VIII. No word if they will return to the AOCAF scene for AOCAF XII.
- ...in the Cup of Harmony
Legalese looks to compete in four Cups of Harmony, preceding their four failures to qualify for the final. They have had good results in this competition, reaching the finals in both COH X and XI, and finishing 4th in COH XII. Legalese co-hosted Cup of Harmony XIII with Rejistania, but had a disappointing tournament, losing to eventual winner Gaian Ascendancy in the quarterfinals.
The National Soccer League played two seasons, starting with the year after WC XXII. The league folded after the collapse of the federal government, but the teams in Legalese have continued to play an informal schedule against each other. The LAFF organized a formal League Season during the 10th year of occupation, which finished play in the first year of modern Legalese; these Leagues are the upper division L-League and the lower division M-League. The Legalese Open Cup also started play in this first season.
