Erse, officially known to native Halladis as Buraydah (Arabic: بريدة), is the name of the former capital city of Hallad. The city is located ino the province of Buraydah. It was the capital during the colonial era of Hallad, and sustained minor damages after the Halladi Revolution. The capital after that was changed to New Dublin, and later back to Erse after the First Halladi Civil War. The capital was later changed to New Erse, on the Halladi Homeworld. It has a population of 15,344,091 people as of 2006. It is considered the most important place in Halladi culture, birthplace of Halladi revolutionary John Connolly, site of the Erse Massacre, and traditionally considered the centre of the Halladi Workers Republic. Since the 1950s, which its population was but a fraction of its current, Erse has seen immense growth. It has been modernized and hosts one of the largest city squares in the world.
