Youngtung is a proud nation that has worked hard for many years in the wide realm of the NS world. In it's over three years of activity, the nation has worked hard and accomplished much. Primarily, the nation resided in the region of England where it served multiple times as Minister of Defence. The nation, in a time of crisis, also created England's Protectorate, the first line of defence for the region. After working for many years alongside many good nations and groups, the nation has retired from England and moved to Canada.

Current History

Creation to UN Advisor

Upon the creation of the nation, it was immediately relocated to England. As time passed, the nation noticed that the regional delegate for England, His Majesty, was inactive in voting in the current UN resolutions. Deeming this important, the nation repeatedly made it's stance on the resolutions known to the delegate, and when the regional forum was created, His Majesty asked the nation to serve in the position of UN Advisor to the Delegate.

The Ministry of Defence

While serving as the UN Advisor, the current Minister of Defence, Section 31 was becoming more and more inactive and the Ministry of Defence was failing to keep up with needs. When His Majesty asked for a Deputy MoD, the nation volunteered. When Section 31 resigned, the nation was the #1 candidate for the post. Having practically no prior military experience, the position was difficult to fill, however at the time it was not a vital department.

However, when England was faced with the Irish Scare, the Minister of Defence was looked to in order for some action to be taken. At the time, England had no organized military of any sort, nor did it have any real power to send troops. It was at this time that the nation created the first military organization in England, named England's Protectorate.

Though the EP was created, it lacked support as the activity on the regional forum was lacking at the time, and the Irish Scare was solved without too much influence from the fledgling organization. However, the simple act of preparing the region for war was simple enough to merit the EP's continued existence, and it carries on even to today. This is told in the History of England: "Youngtung, the minister of defense, began organizing a force of English UN nations to assist in the interregional liberation effort of the two conquered British regions. But due to miscommunication, English forces were alerted too late to take part in the liberations. Even though England was not able to participate directly in the liberations of Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom, these events brought to light the need England had for a defense force and an intelligence service as she had had in her early days. By the end of March, Youngtung had established England’s Protectorate, an all volunteer force of UN nations willing to move in support of England and her allies."

UN Delegate of Bosnia

When His Majesty created the region of Bosnia as an attempt to expand English influence, the position of UN Delegate for Bosnia was opened to the citizens of England. The nation applied for the position and was endorsed my many other nations. It was at this time the nation left England for the first time and became the UN Delegate for Bosnia. For a time, the region began to flourish and was even on the verge of expanding to an external forum, however; activity suddenly dropped and the region ended up dying. It was after this that Bosnia was declared a failure and the nation returned to England.

Knighting and Resignation

On June 3, 2004, Resine presented Youngtung with the Order of England, thereby making Youngtung a Knight of England. In mid-2005, the nation resigned it's post as Minister of Defence and was then inactive until March 2007.

Return in 2007

In March of 2007, the nation was resurrected and rejoined England. After being warmly welcomed back to the region, the nation immediately made itself known to the acting Minister of Defence, New Drakensberg Range, and was welcomed back into the Protectorate. Shortly after an incident with the region Catlandtopia, New Drakensberg Range resigned his post as MoD and the Delegate, West Side appointed the nation as acting Minister until the next Cabinet election. It was in this time that England got involved in the Lazarus conflict and ended up deploying the Protectorate to assist one of our allies. Also, in this time, the nation became the English Ambassador to Gatesville. The nation itself participated in this. After the conflict, the nation ran unopposed in the Cabinet elections and passed the required Vote of Confidence with 100% support. Shortly afterwards, the nation brought back the Deputy MoD department and appointed former minister New Drakensberg Range to the position. At this time, Glerica had written a rough draft of The England's Protectorate Charter, and after some revisions by both nations, it was published in the region as the first document governing the English Ministry of Defence.

Resignation & Retirement

On June 28, 2007, the nation resigned it's post as Minister of Defence & Intelligence and also retired from the region. Upon it's retirement, the nation moved to the region of Canada. Upon request from New Drakensberg Range, the nation has also offered assistance to The United Kingdom as a military advisor of sorts.

On July 4, 2007, the delegate, West-Side presented with the prestigious St. George's Cross, the highest military honour in the region, "As you will all no doubt be aware, Youngtung announced his resignation from the MoD and departure from England last week. Youngtung is one of our oldest members, 18th member of the forum, and 3rd oldest currently active member. Back in March 2004, Youngtung created England's Protectorate, our defence force that has kept England free of invaders ever since, and assisted many friendly regions over the years. He led the force initially before passing that role on to others, but returned more than once to lead the force again. I don't think this contribution to the region has ever been formally recognised, so with Youngtung's time here now at an end, I formally present him with the George Cross. Thank you for everything you have done for England Youngtung."

Retirement to Canada / Revival of England

The nation then retired to Canada where it held a minor role as the Deputy Minister of Doughnuts & Beer. After a few months, England was on a downward path, and when the delegate West-Side stepped down and His Majesty was elected to the post again, the nation was brought back into the English politics yet again. Being appointed to the newly-made Chief of Staff position, the nation was left to oversee the region for the following two weeks while His Majesty was on a RL holiday. Currently, the nation is still active in English politics though has no aspirations for re-entering the English military.
