The Security Council voting on a bill
The Lesser Antilles Security Council (LASC) is the organ of the Lesser Antilles Economic Community charged with maintaining the security of the Lesser Antilles. The council was founded in early 2007 and original consisted of 16 members (4 ministerial and 12 non-ministrial). The numbers are currently 10 (2 ministerial and 8 non-ministrial).

Voting
Bills require a majority of affirmative votes compared to negative votes to be passed. However, a negative vote from a ministerial member prevents adoption of a proposal, a `veto`. An abstention from an minister is not regarded as a veto.
