The Militaristic Empire of Okielahoma is a huge, devout nation, renowned for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 547 million are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Education, and Law & Order. The average income tax rate is 100%. A healthy private sector is dominated by the Uranium Mining industry.

Elected officials often serve for decades in a single term, the country's famous rainforests are being bulldozed by the mining industry, the institution of marriage is held sacred and strictly enforced, and it's a common sight to see angry commuters with grenade launchers mounted on their vehicles. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Okielahoma's national animal is the Savage, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Okiean Mark.

History

Present day Okielahoma was settled around 5000 years ago by nomadic hunters from neighboring islands.. Theese hunters settled on the Red River, which runs through the heart of Okielahoma. The plains, lakes and forests gave these hunters shelter, water and most important of all, the buffalo. Around 3000 years ago it is estimeted that around 500 or so of these hunters (nearly 50%) were killed in a massive meteor shower. This meteor shower has created one of Okielahoma's most stuning natural phenomena, Crater Lakes and Crater Swamps. For the next hundred years there is nothing known about the history of Okielahoma, as no written records exist. In 1714 Okielahoma was incorporated as a Fmjphoenix state, which many people cheered.

Okielahoma is an island situated north of Rejistania, east of Schiavonia, and west of Bushes Been Quaked. Area: 1,473,843 Square Miles
