Introduction

The Empire of Zumorito is a a very large, pleasant and environmentally stunning nation, notable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of of 92 million are ruled without fear or favor by a psychotic dictator, who outlaws just about everything and refers to the populace as "my little playthings" or "human resources." The enormous, corrupt, moralistic government concentrates mainly on Law & Order, although Defence is a secondary priority. The average income tax rate is 36%, but much higher for the wealthy. A healthy private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing, Pizza Delivery, and Trout Farming industries. Voting is compulsory, although a dictator has seized power and outlawed elections, newborns are being raised as mindless killing machines, and Dragons are considered a delicacy. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Zumorito's national animal is the Dragon, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its and its currency is the dead enemy's blood.

The Empire is located on a chain of volcanic islands near what once was Japan, (although the people look more like a mix of Jumon, Russians and Pacific islanders) the islands had been shrouded by cloud cover and undiscovered for almost 1,000 years but finally, Zumorito has re-entered the world after series of violent weather events. Oddly this happened only after the Empire finally won its 400 year civil war against the evil Kang Dynasty and their allies.

Climate

Zumorito is a paradise, a virtual garden of eden with tropical rainforests, beautiful snow covered mountains, fiery volcanos, miles of beaches and temperate, lightly forested plains.

Economy

Zumorito's Economy, while dominated domestically by the Arms Manufacturing, Pizza Delivery industries (pizza was just discovered and our people love it), is propped up by massive foreign trout sales. Almost 89% of the waters in Zumorito have Trout Farms, and Zumorito has even expanded its farming into the nation of . But in early June 2006, Empiricalis ordered so many trout that it would take Zumorito 500 years to fill and so until it is filled, a steady cash flow is expected from this nation as almost all the nation's trout are sent directly to Empiricalis. There is also a small logging industry and medium mining industry which mainly consists of diamond, copper and tungsten mines in the mountainous regions. The government spends most of its budget on Law & Order(35%), with Defense(22%) and Administration(21%) a close second and third. Spirituality gets 8% of the budget and another 8% is dedicated to commerce. The remaining money is split based on the day-to-day needs of the department.

History

circa 1350 What is now called Zumorito is united for the first time by groups of tribesmen and fishermen.

1567 A lone scout ship makes contact with Chinese vessels and attempts to engage in trade and diplomatic relations, instead the Chinese set the ship on fire, and all hands are burned alive... The ship is found adrift by fisherman some days later. One survivor is found, the infant child who would one come to be known as "Zumorito".

1599 A Chinese fleet of invading ships is destroyed at the Fu'Chain reef by a small force of hastily improved fishing vessels led by Zumorito. He is made a national hero and crowned Emperor.

1601 Emperor Zumorito forever unifies the land under a single language, as a result political movements begin to spring up, among them are the Authoritarian Kang movement, the leftist Fishermen and Farmers Consortium and the Nationalist movement

1605 March 30th, "Kang the Destroyer", a powerful warlord, poisons Emperor Zumorito in his sleep, the Emperor survives and responds to Kang's actions by sending troops to destroy Kang's home village.

1606 April 1st, Civil war begins in full force, moments later... Zumorito disappears into the fog.

2005 God-Emperor Zumorito slays the final blood relative of "Kang the Destroyer" in the 23rd Battle of Jokoyo.

2006 The fog lifts.

2006 Summer, Zumorito, under the immortal Emperor Zumorito, rapidly modernizes as it comes in contact with the International community. Industrialization happens in a matter of weeks.

2006 October 21st, Gen-sui Lokio asserts himself as leader of the Nationalist movement, claims Emperor Zumorito is dead, seizes power in a coup and takes control of the nation's industry and much of its military. Declares the first National Republic of Zumorito, changes the flag and disfigures the constitution with a barrage of new decrees and edicts, then holds staged elections.

2006 Gen-sui Lokio's decision to evict foreign nationals and seize control of their companies and assets proves a major stumbling block to Lokio's solidification of power. His ties to criminal organizations and the rumors that Emperor Zumorito is alive also shake the foundation of his rule. The nation with the largest amount of foreign investment in the Zumorito, The Phoenix Milita, deploys military forces to protect its embassy and citizens, and aligns itself with ZHI, the most powerful non-governmental organization in the country.

2006 November 2nd, ZHI and the Nationalist government engage in open conflict, Lokio's propaganda machine works overtime to contain popular revolt. Foreign intervention has not yet come and the future of Zumorito is in question...

2006 December 7th, a date which shall live in infamy; Gen-Sui Lokio gives the order to attack The Phoenix Milita's embassy. A small months task force is able to respond within days and keep the embassy from falling by providing air cover, but large-scale help is still months away. Gen-sui Lokio, unaware of the size, composition and location of TPM naval forces, stupidly holds off further major attacks against the embassy for the next 50 days.

2007January-February, public support beins to wane as ZHI holdouts and TPM forces continue to resist the Nationalist forces. Small civilian protests are staged in several cities, TPM continues an aggressive propaganda campaign and is suspected of working with ZHI and the protest leaders.

2007 April 9, massive protests rock Kagakia, and later the capital, and the army begins to collapse in the face of fervent anti-nationalist sentiment amongst the population

2007 May 8, only about a month after the large scale protests began, The Phoenix Milita issues a forceful propaganda message, and off a massive air and naval campaign and launch an invasion of Jokoyo

2007 May 9, in the face of overwhelming odds... Zumoritan forces evacuate the capital, and it soon falls to invading TPM marines and paratroopers. In the chaos, Gen-sui Lokio goes missing...

Military

The military of the Empire is configured for defense, with the most money going to protecting the miles of coastline, harbors and the trout farms. The Navy undergoing a major buildup and is Zumoritan diplomats are currently in negotiation to purchase a modern aircraft carrier, as well as additional naval aircraft and helicopters from DMG.

The standard firearms use the all new Zumoritan 7.6X40mm round, while some special weapons use 5.7x28mm, 12 ga., 25mm, 40mm, or 81mm rounds. All Zumoritan arms are modified weapons that were purchased from other countries
