The Alliance Defense Network, or ADN, is the largest defender alliance in NationStates, comprised of 30 member regions. Its motto is "With Strength and Honor". The ADN was founded by Vazquez, Mendanau (aka Phoenix ).
The current ADN director is Pope Hope. The Secretary of Defense is Unistrut. The Secretary of State is Ananke.
The Alliance Defense Network is devoted to the defense of its members and protects the freedom of natives of any region to live in peace and prosperity, free from invasions. The Alliance Defense Network states that it is both revered and reviled by the defender and invader, respectively; however, wherever one's partisanship may lie, it is a force of the NS world.
The ADN's true nature, however, is highly controversial. Some say they have repeatedly intervened in affairs where they were not wanted. The ADN has also consistently refused to recognize the People's Republic of The Pacific as the legitimate government of the Pacific, given the fashion in which it gained power. Since Pope Hope declared martial law, many have been feeling increasingly alienated by the ADN and several regions renounced their membership of the organisation, including Greece and the largest non-feeder/sink member region, the Allied States of EuroIslanders.
