Mitsubishi Bioengineering Research Laboratory, Alcatraz Branch

This facility, official name "Mitsubishi Biotechnology Research Facility, Unit 731, Alcatraz Branch", known as the "Zoo", was were Unit 731 kept all Non-Humans it caught within the territories of Aurono, and apparently, more were captured by the unit during raids in the Independant Midwest. The facility is somehow related to the StarFire Crisis, and experiments involving the D-Virus and Non-Humans, such as Nekomimi, where conducted here. The facility was officially transformed into a purely medical military hospital when Princess Momoko Aurelia Hanasaki of Aurono declared Unit 731's operation in Aurono as illegal. Alcatraz Branch was also the base of a brief military uprising of Unit 731 against the ASDF following the abolishment of their operations. This revolt was likely incited by META. Today, the area is still off-limits to civilian personell, but it is used as a military hospital and a civilian medical research facility.

Mitsubishi Bioengineering Research Laboratory, Island Branch

This facility, official name "Mitsubishi Biotechnology Research Facility, Unit 731 Island Branch", is always referred to as "The Mansion", "Picasso Mansion" or "The Ranch'". It is located on The Island, somewhere at an unmentioned location between South America and Indochina. The Island also serves as headquarters to the Neutral Alliance. The Mansion is a large, Raygun Gothic-style mansion with a large underground compound. The larger surroundings are usually referred to as The Ranch, and include large fenced areas for specimen and also training grounds. Further away from the Mansion lies the only civilian settlement of The Island, who'S citizens all seem to be unders ome kind of mind control. First Doctor Picasso researched here, later Doctor Hasgawa was imprisoned by the Syndicate in the mansion and forced to do research. This was were Muro's, Barabas' and Mukade's Daodan Chrysalises were created and implanted. In Floor -2, a failed experiment was put in stasis, an Oni prototype similar to Barabas, but even stronger and even less smart, called Goliath. The Mansion and village on The Island served as stage to the events during Oni: Rebirth, when PHOENIX captures the island to initalize Phoenix Rising.

Mitsubishi Bioengineering Research Laboratory, Salt Lake Branch

This branch of the Mitsubishi Laboratories is the most recently created laboratory complex used to create the D-Virus-based Serums by exploiting Zero's DNA. The laboratory is split into two compounds: A smaller one located in the Utah Olympic Construction Site in Salt Lake City, and a main facility inside the converted Utah JMOB. This branch is only staffed by industrial crew and average research personell, so large amounts of D-Virii were shipped to the Island Branch for analysis. However, the Salt Lake Branch has a better security level and military, required for the case of Zero's awakening. The Utah JMOB can easily be defended: it houses a squadron of fighters (Brigands and Zeros), aerial torpedoes and other defense methods. Besides its biotech function, the facility is also used to study aircraft technology recovered on the Utah JMOB. Many Agents of META were created here.

The Mitsubishi Nuclear Technology Research Laboratory (Japanese: 核技術の三菱実験室), Tokyo Branch is the main facility for Mitsubishi's nuclear research. Besides research into purely nuclear technology, the Nuclear Technology Research Laboratory also researches into alot of other particle-related fields. For example, it operates a particle accelerator and has an institute dedicated to quantum mechanics.

A research facility in a disputed part of Mongolia - According to Japanese authorities, it lies within Mengjiang, and thus Eastasia, while the Soviet Union, White Russia and Outer Mongolia claims it belongs to their territory, thus creating another disputed zone at Eastasia's borderlands. The control over this branch, which seems to be in the middle of nowhere, seems to be extremely important to Eastasia. It has been claimed that, though Mongolia would make a perfectly remote location to test nuclear weapons, the site is not a testing ground for any nuclear technology at all, but rather, the location of a proposed extraterrestial or even inter-dimensional technology transfer of some sort. Proponents of this claim point out that the steep increase of biotechnology used by the Syndicate, and even the initial development of the Daodan Chrysalis would have been impossible to achieve in such a short time with the technology available when it happened. They claim that Eastasia harnessed a local spacetime anormality to make contact to another dimension. According to these claims, the technology transfered from this Fluidic Space is:

Fluidic Space from Biotechnology Theory

One theory states that Fluidic Space, be it either a dimension outside of ours, or simply a stellar cloud of organic material somewhere within our universe actually developed from terran biotechnology. This is explained via the Termagant, a spaceship sold to NeoZion by Mitsubishi. The Termagant was unique in that it had an organic layer within its structure that could repair any damage done to the hull or inner systems of the ship. The ship was also crewed by Cytaurs. All biosystems of the ship were controlled by a Deadly Brain. This ship went missing following the Battle of the Moon, when Earth Alliance forces attacked NeoZion. Later, the Human space colony Eden-IV reported the presence of an alien species called Propagators within the space in its vicinity (the Ragnarok was occupied by this species) - Propagators show high similarities to Cytaurs. Later, purely organic species driven by a collective mind appeared in several systems, being referred to as Zerg, Species 8472 or Tyrant. Each of these species had members in various phyiscal forms, such as there are working bees and warrior bees within the same hive. Only that these forms were more specialized in certain tasks than simply "worker" or "warrior". Notably, one type of Tyrant is referred to as "Termagant". There are also claimed links to the being Valmar, which was, as well, apparently extracted from an extradimensional source, is purely based on biological features, can infect and control lifeforms and subject them to evolution at its whim and uses artificial, purely biological "moons" orbiting a planet to spread further. Also, Valmar Youngs closely resemble Cytaurs, Propagatos and Species 8372.

Wave Engine

The Wave Engine is a type of FTL engine that converts vacuum energy into tachyon particles. These particles move faster than the speed of light. By "riding" the resulting tachyon wave, the Though a ship can travel quite fast, the speed is propably within the Sol scale, and warp speed is out of range. However, the Wave Engine's method of converting vacuum energy is quite risky and if operated when the spacetime at the point of "jumping onto the tachyon wave" (acceleration into FTL speed) is not "in phase" with spacetime at the point of "jumping off the tachyon wave" (return to sublight speed), this could supposedly destroy the universe.
