Daurmont, or more precisely the alderdom of Greater Daurmont, is the capital and primary cultural and financial centre of the United Kingdom of Isselmere-Nieland (UKIN). Comprised of several metropolitan boroughs or bailies, Daurmont is the largest and most densely populated conurbation in the UKIN.

Origin
The area within the modern boundaries of the Greater Daurmont Alderdom has been inhabited continuously for several millennia. Situated upon the River Isling (Anguistian An Uislíadh or Greywater), present-day Daurmont emerged from the ancient Anguistian communities of Cér an dUislíadh[1] on the river and the massive hill fort at Dón nan Dárich mór[2] in reference to the fort's massive oaken walls.
After the seizure of the area by Anglo-Frisian speaking peoples, the communities retained their names albeit in a much altered form. The site of the destroyed hill fort of Dón nan Dárich mór became Daúrmúnd[3] or the citadel of the village on the river, Isling. Upon this ruin, successive local Anglo-Frisian kings built their own forts, culminating in what is now know as Herincourt Castle (then the Herenghœf[4]), which became a royal residence from Forthar I to Edmund II.
Geography
Daurmont is situated in the southeast of Isselmere-Nieland within the southeastern province of Tichonia of the Grand Duchy of Isselmere, the largest of the three autonomous regions comprising the Kingdom of Isselmere. The massive conurbation strides across the River Isling and covers that water's many smaller tributaries.
Population
Over forty-six million people live, learn, and work within the Greater Daurmont area, with many more arriving every year.
Politics and government
There are thirty-six districts situated in seven burghs within Daurmont proper, with many more within the boundaries of Greater Daurmont Alderdom.
Districts, burghs, wards
Being the massive conurbation that it is, the capital is an alderdom in its own right and is divided in seven large bailies that are sub-divided further into thirty-six districts and well over a hundred wards. It must be noted that wards in Isselmere-Nieland are more small burghs than electoral districts.
