Overview

The Empire of Nojika is a massive, socially progressive nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 1.875 billion are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Social Equality. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 42%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Automobile Manufacturing, Gambling, and Arms Manufacturing industries.

Nojika's national animal is the Panther, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Credit.

History

The land which is called Nojika presently, has been called by this name since ancient tribes inhabited the peninsula. Climate & Terrain

The northern coastline and the two islands of Nojika experience very tropical and warm weather year round. The Roenech Mountains rise in the eastern half of the nation and move east towards Xile; the mountains provide year round snow. Undeveloped rain forest fills the southern portion of Nojika, except for a small port city on the Xilean Channel. The remainder of the nation is very temperate.

National Government

The Empire of Nojika is ruled currently by it's father, Emperor Brakiss. The Emperor has absolute rule of the people and the land of Nojika and rules with the aid of Lord Kahal, Grand Vizier Baskar and various other aids and governors.

Foreign Government

Upon declaring himself the Emperor, Emperor Brakiss gave full governing rights to a select thirteen people over certain parts of the Atlantian Oceania region, calling them Moffs and Grand Moff. These governors serve as diplomats to nations within their district and as the commander of all military activities within their district. Of the thirteen, only one of these Moffs was named Grand Moff. The Grand Moff oversees the activities of each Moff throughout the region.

Politics

The Emperor's decision is suprmeme in all cases. The Grand Vizier, however, often oversees and runs the day to day government activities. The Empire is often viewed as very decentralized in that much of the power is given to the Moffs and Grand Moffs.

Military

Nojika and its citizens take great pride in its military. Though not required, many young men will choose to attend one of the many military acadmeys throughout the country when they turn 18, simply out of tradition. Lord Kahal has complete control of the Nojikan Navy as well as the Army, but allows General Kwinn to manage most of the Army's day to day operations. Nojika currently maintains a modern/post-modern tech. military and spend a quarter of its GDP on both Defence and Law and Order.

Navy

The Nojikan Navy, led by its Supreme Commander, Lord Kahal, is where most of Nojika's pride in its armed forces lies. This is partly because the navy serves as the nation's airforce too, making it that much more powerfull. Nearly 75% of all military aircraft in Nojika are owned and operated by the navy. Most recruits that choose to join the navy, must go through an extra 2 years (a typical army recruit will train for 2 years) of training at one of the few special naval academys.

Army

The standing army in Nojika boasts a huge number of grunt soldiers and all terrain attack vehicles. Led by the infamous General Kwinn, the Imperial army's infantry and vehicle pilots all wear a shiny white suit of full body armour that reveals nothing about a soldier but their height. In Nojika, young men are glorified for going off to one of the many Imperial academy's, and about 45% of those that make it through the academy will become soldiers in the Nojikan army. Those recruits that do choose to join the army will be enlisted as a grunt and will remain so for the remainder of their 10 year contract untill or unless they are promoted or discharged.

Royal Gaurd

The Emperor's Royal Guard are commonly mistaken for typical secret service guards. However, they are much more than that, they are the best and most loyal men, typically soldiers, in Nojika. Many would call the Royal Guard a group of loyal extremeists, and that they are. They serve to protect the Emperor, his title and the Empire only. The Royal Guard wear a beautiful red robe and shiny featureless red mask.
