Locally, the name of a ship or submarine is preceded by the abbreviation HMS for His (or Her) Majesty's Ship/Submarine, whereas boats are preceded by the abbreviation HMB for HM Boat. Internationally, the names of Isselmere-Nielander naval vessels are preceded by the acronym HINMS or HINMB for His/Her Isselmerian and Nielander Majesty's Ship/Submarine/Boat.
